what is the best way to relieve a cold/sore throat during pregnancy? Rss

This is my first pregnancy and i am currently 14 weeks pregnant.
i have sneezed non stop for 2 days now and my nose is like a tap.
I am afraid to take garlic supplements.
What do u suggest?
for the sore throat make some honey & lemon tea! I drink it religiously when i feel a lurgy coming on & it seems to keep it at bay. If you have local honey that is even better.

Garlic tablets should be ok tho?
For the throat: Gargle warm salt water every 2-3 hours. Drink honey & lemon tea to soothe.
For the nose: Use a saline nasal spray to help dry it up.
Other stuff i find helpful: Make a big batch of chicken & veg soup (or better yet have someone else make it for you!) Vicks on your chest esp at night can help you breathe easier.

Btw: Garlic supplements should be fine as long as you don't have any clotting disorders or you're close to your due date (as garlic is an anticoagulant).

People who live in glass houses.....shouldn't walk around naked!

ewwwwww
dont use vicks - full of nasty nasty chemicals..

this http://www.littleinnoscents.com.au/index.php/pr... is the same, but no chemicals

actually, the whole range is awesome...
I had a really bad headcold at the start of my pregnancy, I found lemon and honey worked good and for my nose and breathing I had the oil burner going with some eucalyptus oil in it before you go to bed.
