3D/4D Scans Rss

How many people have had the 3d/4d scans during any of their pregnancies?
Im interested to see just how many people get it done and what their thoughts are on it!
We are planning on having one is a week or two and wondered who else is planning to do it during their pregnancy?

I had it during both pregnancies, although with my first it cost a lot of money for a 15 min appointment and baby just would not cooperate so didn't really get a lot of nice shots, maybe one or two that you could actually make out what it is. With my second they gave me a 3d pic everytime I went for a scan but still never had any really nice pics as they don't really want to spend a lot of time trying to get nice photos.
It is very cool though to see baby on the screen moving around, my little one looked like she was sucking on her thumb, it is very precious.... just depends on position of baby unfortunately.

I had a 16 week gender scan and will possibly get another one later on in the pregnancy to get some better pics of bub. Bub hid behind the placenta most of the time during the 16 week scan so didn't get any good pics. Very exciting that you get to see bubs in a few weeks though smile

Yes we were going to go for the gender scan too if we didnt find out at our 20 week scan, she couldnt find it the whole time and then in the last two minutes he opened up his legs and gave her the clearest picture!!! I think they are amazing got to watch DD yawn when we had her scan and they put the movie on a disk for me, it was so amazing!!!

That sucks nai&beau that bubs was hiding behind the placenta! Maybe if you have another one later on you will get clearer pictures!! You should be due for your 20 weeks scan soon too so you get to see your bubba soon too yeah??

Yes in just over a week I will get to see bub again and confirm that it is definitely a girl smile

Hi Zimbee, we got some 3d footage at our 20 week scan which was pretty cool so we decided to go to a private scanning place and have the 3d/4d scans done at 26 weeks to see some more of bub and also to get a second gender confirmation. It was awesome!! The sonographer was so lovely and very friendly and we got almost 40 images on a disc and he checked the gender for me 6 times and gave me plenty of shots of that area so I could see it clearly! We were there for over 45 minutes and when bub curled up and didnt want to play anymore he had me go to the loo and walk up and down the stairs and then tried again. He also said right from the start that if the images werent great that we could come back free of charge for a re-scan. Not sure where in VIC you are or if you have booked somewhere already but i can highly recommend this place its called 'baby to be' in Elwood.
I might be one of the few .... I think they look a bit creepy!?!?!
I know heaps of people that love them and pay the extra money for them, but I personally dont get it.

I like the black and white ones smile

Oh how exciting!!! I hope the week goes really quickly for you!!! smile

They weren't around when I had dd so never got one for her. Then I heard everyone raving about them so with ds I talked hubby into upgrading one of our scans to get some 3d images. Only cost maybe $50 more than I would have paid for the normal scan but dh and I both said afterwards we didn't think it was worth it and wouldn't bother doing it again!
