Nausea!!!! Rss

i feel ya! I had it everytime I was awake, including going to the toilet at night, I was not a happy camper. I was lucky in that I have been at my job for ages and had a lot of sick leave, I was only doing half days for such a long time.
I tried, ginger, crackers, milk and nutmeg (not that i could stomach milk but i was desperate), acupuncture, some herbal drops that were gross, sea sickness bands... in the end i got ondancetron (can't think of it's other name) which helped. there is one that stops the vomiting (sorry i can't think ofthe name) but did nothing for the nausea which I found worse to cope with than the vomitting.
Head to your dr, if i'm that crook next pregnancy (it started at 6 weeks) i am going to go straight on the medication..
maxolon was the only thing that helped me, need a script from the doctor for it but it can make you a little drowsy but I worked through 2 pregnancies taking it

that's the one, maxalon stopped the vomitting for me but not the nausea. It may take a few trips to the dr to find something that works
I was very sick for 17 weeks and vomited at least 5 or 6 times a day. It was awful and I constantly felt horrible. I had to take zofran (which cost $8 a pill) because I'm allergic to maxolon. It was hard, I'm a nurse and had to go to work everyday and at the time was working in a dementia unit, so I had to be cleaning up all kinds of bodily fluids which with my keen pregnant sense of smell was torture, I was on my feet all day and by the time I finished work was so exhausted and dehydrated I just went to bed at 5:30 most nights because I couldn't bare to be awake anymore. I tried all of the natural remedies and nothing really helped, the meds just took the edge off and allowed me to be partially functioning. Unfortunately if you are one of the unlucky ones, you can't do much but to ride it out. As awful as it is right now, it won't last forever and most people are over the worst of the sickness sometime in the first half of the pregnancy. Everyone told me it would end at week 13 so I was very hopeful but crushed when it just kept going. All you can do is try and keep hydrated as being dehydrated makes it worse, go to bed early and experiment with what foods you can manage and ones to avoid. For me, I lived on apple juice and vegemite toast.

Just be careful with maxalon if u havent had it before as i had it and suffered a severe reaction to it. Dont mean to scare you sorry...:-S
