Understand HCG results???? Massive jumps in Hcg results

Took a blood test and results were "16" we having to guess our possible due date not sure exactlythinking 3.5weeks but the thing is I had another blood test done 6 days later and shows "447" at 4.5weeks est. I have read normally only doubles every 2-3 days but this is rediculas....... Has anyone else had this extreme jump. If so how many babies one or more?

That's actually a pretty normal jump - your levels are doubling in 29 hours, which is great.
HCG levels in early pregnancy are very confusing. Don't worry about the numbers at all, just as long as the levels are going up smile

Cool, thanks I have a friend who had twins and her rate was 12 then with a month to 1000. and I was thinking i'm already a quater way there in less than one week. I was surprised as in everything you read it states 2-3day double time not just over a day. When I had my other children didn't go by these numbers. I guess just thinking what happens if there was more than one in there? also my doc just keeps asking have you booked in that ultrasound yet?

You won't be able to see anything on an ultrasound until your HCG levels are over 5000 at least, so wait a while if you don't want to be disappointed smile I had very high HCG levels at the beginning of this pregnancy and the levels increased very rapidly, but there's only one bub in here!

It's great reading your replies, I just couldn't stop thinking about all this, I don't really believe in aura readings and stuff like that but was given one years ago and was told I would get a new job and concieve a boy later that year and other little things that all came true on the exact dateline given then she contacted me to tell me that I would be moving and getting a better job in a large company and have 2 baby orbs around me that's just waiting for better times, well I got the job and it's been a year and everything was great and now I'm unexpectally pregnant so just thinking has she got it right again or not??? and the weird thing is the odds me getting pregnant were lowered due to health and being on the pill so this bub is determined to be here. I should only be five weeks now and already have in my mind I feel fat, and different from my other pregnancies so I guess it could be my mind playing games. I am happy and look forward in seeing my ultrasound when doc makes the appointment
