Hi Jadeehawthorn,

Congratulations! That's awesome news, but dont worry if its all a bit overwhelming right now. Just let it all sink in and be kind to yourself. Take it a day at a time.

Have you had a good look around the huggies website? I found the information in the 'Conception' and 'Pregnancy' section really helpful. There's a bunch of info in there about what foods to avoid, what to eat more of and what to aim for re: exercise.

If you're looking for some moral support, these forums are great. I saw a forum for mums due in May 2013, so that might be for you.

Good luck in these exciting first few weeks. If it's any consolation, I'm sure that every first time mum goes through the same mixed emotions. It's totally normal.

PS, I recently read 'Up the Duff' by Kaz Cooke. It's a really funny but helpful take on pregnancy. Tells you what you need to know without going into all the scary gory detail. Might be worth a look. xx
thank you for the tips. and i will be sure to take an in depth look around this site. smile

hey jade are you joining the due may 2013 club on fb? smile
Hello fellow 5-6 weekers!

Yes, i agree that the huggies site has some excellent info in the "pregnancy" tab on the top purple toolbar. As for exercise - yesterday my physio said that whatever you're doing before you were pregnant, you can keep doing - just take it slow if starting anything new. Jogging and cycling are fine if they are your usual pursuits.

Get hold of the Victorian Department of Health brochure: "Listeria - the facts", which is a great guide to stuff that it's not adviseable to eat - it's also worth a look on the "diet and health" forum tab on this website for how people have followed or varied these guidelines. I am now paying a lot more attention to the cleanliness of cafes and takeaways! If you're out and about and in doubt, I think the forum suggests that toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches are usually a safe bet. And make sure that you have small regular meals - don't go 6 hours like I did yesterday and nearly pass out!

Best of luck xxxxxxxx

Hi Jade!

I'm 6 weeks pregnant right now too and am feeling the same emotions you are. It's so nice knowing there are people out there feeling what I feel. I've been sourcing tons of renowned websites including thebump.com and bubhub.com.au. The Bump website has information on how to cope as well as how much exercise you can do right now etc smile

Hope this helps!
