Home dopplers....

Hoping to get some advice on dopplers for home use...are they easy to use, where did you buy it & how much thanks smile

Im looking into one also I almost brought one off gumtree the other day but someone beat me to it and I think they still want it cos I ahvent herd back(I said I would take it if the other person didnt) Im looking on ebay theres heaps on ebay I was thinking of buying one off there Id lke to also know what others think

I bought mine off ebay about 2 years ago for around $70, the name is Angel somthing can't think of the rest of it. can check later but it's in my daughters room and don't want to wake her. It took me a bit to get use to it but it became easy to use. They are great foe reassurance...... grin

It's called Angel sound....I just used a bit of baby oil on my tummy, no need to buy the gel...

Ive been told also KY jelly/lube works to insted of the normal gel

I think they're c**p. I bought one off ebay (wasn't a cheap one either) and even now at 16 weeks I can't find the heartbeat but have heard the heartbeat at every ultrasound so I know its the doppler.

I bought one for reassurance and its caused nothing but stress

Only advise i would give is get your midwife to show you the difference between the umbilicalcord and heart beat, Ive been able to hear heart beat for ages! i think i got it 14weeks??

I did try and buy one of ebay from USA and it never arrived and when i applied for my money back for goods never arriving i got the ruddest email from the supply saying i shouldnt have kids because im a b***h ect ect. which was very random!
so id say dont buy one from usa!!

Hey there, ive had my own doppler that i purchased from overseas..far cheaper than here and renting a doppler is expensive too. i brought mine for $55 i think and im sure that included post. i searched the net to buy one here in aus but didnt come up with one. yes i use mine everyday...long time in between scans and gives me the re assurance that i need. at first it takes abit of practice as bub was quite small, think i was 15 weeks or so. not it takes no time at all to find her. if your still interested in getting one, let me know and ill give you doppler details smile
