is this heat rash/viral? Rss

I thought my DS had heat rash so I went to the chemist to see if I could get something to soothe/help it

I get there and the chemist said it was chicken pox to take him to the dr's so I just got back and they said it wasn't heat rash or chicken pox but viral but someone else said it actually looks like measels not viral

so I will post a pic to see if this actually looks viral as it's under/around neck, on face , back and chest he also has some around the genital area which I have let him do nudie runs but doesn't help it also has a slight raise to it nobbley feel
so can someone shed some light on the subject please

hope fully we do

i think it looks a bit like eczema which can be caused by heat isaiah had it last summer and it would flare up when it got hot the doctor just said to put moisturiser on it and it should go away

and mummy and isla i just looked at your thread it could be eczema too and if its hot that might be why she's sleeping so much

obvious i dont know for sure just what i think smile

has he been unwell? where did the rash start?
Hi! Im clearly not a doctor! It really looks like roseola to me. This is a virus that ages 1 to 3 year olds get. My son got it a while back (actually all my kids have had it, its really common). It started with him being grumpy and clingy, then he got a bad temp for a few hours and then had a day nap infront of tv (HE NEVER SLEEPS IN THE DAY). When he woke he had the rash on his neck/face and torso. There is nothing but panadol you can do. The marks dont hurt and arent contageous, he would have been contageous 4 days before rash. It doesnt affect any pregnancy (i asked doctors) and usually once rash appears he is actually fine/happy again. Rash will take max a week to fade.Hope that helps. Look it up in Baby Love book, if you have it.
This looks very similar to what my son had this week. He had a fever for a couple of days - day 2 had a temp of 40.8 degrees for which he was admitted to hospital. They took tests and everything appeared normal. They told me it was probably a "viral infection" and a rash would appear in the next few days - which it did. It has disappeared now, wasn't itchy or causing him any discomfort. I would suggest ringing Health Direct or seeing your GP if you have any concerns.
Wow! You are in Aussie right? Because I am in NZ and my DD who is 10 yrs has a rash that looks like that on her neck, chest, back, and shoulders. It is like a bunch of tiny little pimples for her and looks exactly like your pic.
If it is the same thing I would say that it is viral.
