Giant soft teddy bear toys Rss

I have a well meaning Father-in law who gave my daughter 2 massive toy teddy bears for Christmas. She is 18 months now and they are both double her size.
We have a small place with little storage room.
Do you have any suggestions on what to do with these Christmas gifts.

Thanks for your time.
I also have one that was mine when I was a bub, and unfortunately my grandmother (it was stored at her place) bought it in for dd, i think I might take mine to the local community centre for th kiddies. Although being presents for your dd I don't know how comfortable you would be with giving them away? Other than that I have no suggestions sorry. sad good luck they take up heaps of space dont they.
Ah Teddy's are so hard lol I just did a clean out today - put some Teddy's in a big bag that I'll be donating to vinnies/ salvos. That's the only thing I thought of smile

I wonder if vinnies gets sick of them...

I thought about maybe hanging them up from a hook on the wall but I really don't want them to look like they are 'hanging'...
Oops, misunderstood you! Didn't realise you meant what to do if keeping them lol

I have teddies hanging on a chain in dd's room - it looks adorable!! Also, can you get a toy hammock to hang on the wall they can sit in? That would be cute or floating shelf to sit on?

Seriously giant teddies must be the most useless, unthoughtful gift of all time haha. We have a rack on DS's wall with soft toys and the giant teddy sits on top. Only occasionally does he want it down to sleep with, though I have to go in and move it or it makes him too hot. I bet op shops hate them too! laugh
Ick I hate soft toys with a passion, DD doesn't have hardly any and the ones we do have go into the toy box.

I agree that a toy hammock might be good to store them in!

yes we got 3 this chrissy (thanks to kmart and woolies selling them dirt cheap) all 3 are up to my armpit when theyre sitting!! i hate them.

for now i just have them sitting on the floor in the corners if the kids rooms or on the floor against the end of their beds, i admit they do look kinda cute in their rooms but my kids have no interest in them whatsoever, have no idea what to do with them, theyre in perfect condition so i thinkill store them away (with difficulty) and donate them to the kmart wishing tree since theyre brand new next year..lol kmart can have them back smile
oohh.. where an i buy a soft toy hammock? that idea sounds great.

We have ours in a bucket in the corner of the room. They never get touched. My boys only use there sleeping toys. I dont know what to do with them all really either. When the boys were born they got given so many Care Bears (because I loved Care Bears as a girl). I know they were expensive so i dont want to throw them away, I was going to give them to a few little girls I know, but they have so much stuff already and Im not sure they would appreciate them. A few years ago, when the fires were in vic I donated heaps of nice toys/clothes to families with children.
Great ideas!

Where would I get a toy hammock from?
I like the return it under the Kmart Christmas tree idea too.

Maybe we could start an advertising campaign explaining the 'pain' big soft toys are. Lol!
My mother in law bought my son one when i was pregnant and i.m telling you it GIANT!!it comes up to my waist when its sitting on the floor she spent $200 on this thing so i cant even get rid of it. luckily my son (2.5) at the moment wrestles with it but it wont be long before it exiled back to a corner to collect some dust

So in answer to the original question. have you thought of getting some vacuum storage bags?
I don't know..
For my 18 bday my MIL bought me a giant EEYORE - Love eeyore!!
And he sits on my bed (when I can be bothered to make it) or just lays on the floor... DD loves him and tried to claim it as her... UM no its mine!!
My suggestion would be, go over and see FIL for a visit with 1 bear, and leave it there and say we'll leave this one here for when we come to visit, then he has to deal with where to put it, also my deter any other future large purchases.

And since im such a nice person, i would then take the other one to my MIL and say the same thing.

Storage problem sorted!
