My DS has suffered from quiet a few ear infections (mainly from swimming) and tonsilitis since he was born.
He is booked in to get his tonsilis out next month, the ENT looked at his ears and decided against gromits which I was fine about...
Then a few weeks ago we went away on a trip and DS spent alot of time in the pool and got a bad ear infection, even though the GP said it was only mild I could just tell from his behaviour that is was worse than others he had had. He had two runs of antibiotics and has not complianed for about a week of a sore ear though each and every night when its bed time I lay with him for a story and a chat and he insists that I use my little finger to rub the inside of his ear??? Only the one ear, and everytme he falls asleep within no time while i lightly rub his ear!!!!
I have spoken to my mother about it who is a nurse and she thinks maybe before he has his tonsils out I should go and see his ENT and ask him to reconsider gromits?
Just after any other opinions
