Thomas train set

Hi,

My DS is really getting into Thomas at the moment and we're looking at getting him a wooden train set soon. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the Thomas trains (the wooden railway ones) will fit on the tracks from Kmart/ikea/brio brand. I know that the ikea/brio match - had them at kindy I worked at but we never had any Thomas trains.

The Thomas tracks are so expensive thats why I was wondering (Thomas $80 for a 20 piece set) and Kmart ($25 for an 80 piece set)

We've got a Big W wooden train set and an aldi one too. We got a few of the wooden Thomas trains and both sets fit the wooden thomas trains well as well as having the actual track pieces slot in together without any problems. The only thing the kids find frustrating is that the tracks don't fit the metal thomas trains (we have a lot more of them) - the track grooves are slightly further apart than the metal thomas wheels need so we've had to separate the wooden train sets and the plastic ones.
