Questions about 12 month old
People keep asking me weather my little girl is talking or walking yet... and my answer is no... I’m not so much concerned about her walking as I know of many babies who haven’t walked at 12 months and she was a bit of a late crawler (9 1/2 Months) but should she be talking? She says dad well dada has since she was 6 months she said mama for about 2 days a few weeks ago and that it oh I think she may say dog well dooo for dog... She knows what a bath is and her water, like if you say "where is your water" she will go get it and "do you want to have a bath" she crawls to the bathroom and if you say "where is dad" she will look for him and just recently if she is standing at the baby gate winging and I say "are you hungry" she will look at her high chair.. Should she be doing more?

She sounds perfect.
I was never worried about when my DS would walk but I was REALLY getting sick of people asking me every time I saw them if he was walking yet. DS crawled conventionally when he was 9 months and walked just shy of 14 months.
Really, she sounds like she is developing perfectly. At 12 months my DS was exactly the same, not walking and saying a small handful of words. She is comprehending what you are saying which means she is developing fine.
My DS is now 15 months old, is walking and can say quite a few words and a few 2 and 3 word phrases (there it is, what's that? Hi Mum)
Babies do lots between 12 months and 18 months so try not to be concerned until she is closer to two. The walking age is normally between 9 months and 18 months, although many do it before and many after too, so as you can see there is a huge age bracket for it!

my son could say some words but was not able to talk until he was 4.. his daycare teachers werent concerned and said that he was functioning as a normal child - playing, interacting, listening, etc and understood what was being said and he just started talking on his own when he was ready.. i wouldnt be worried at all she will do it when she is ready lol smile
Sounds like my dd2.Its only in the past month or so she is really becoming a clever little lady and repeating everything along with the whole "Oh...who did that?" when i caught her drawing on the wall <img src='http://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> (shes 20 months now). I wouldnt be worried smile

I would most definitely not worry about her talking by 12 months, my girl didn't say a single word till she was about 15 months, and only just started to say mama (she's 21 months now). She started going to preschool 3 weeks ago and since then there has been a major improvement in her speech, suddenly she can say about 20 words. She is also a lot more interested in her books now.
Maybe try to read every day, board books with simple words and pictures are great, by repeating the same words every day she will eventually say them:)

As others have said she sounds perfect well done you. Also I think its better to understand what your saying than talk and not understand what it means
