Drinking bottles for 2yo + Rss

Hi there,

I want to buy a new bottle for my 2.5yo and would prefer stainless steel but as they are quite pricey want to make sure I get a good one first time.
I have been looking at the new Ecococoon Stainless steel bottles which look perfect but not sure if I can buy them anywhere but online as they are quite $$ with postage included.
I have seen some in Babies R Us called KidsBasix I think for about $25.

Wondering if anyone else have found good ones, must be easy to clean and easy for little one to drink from.

Her current waterbottle is just from the supermarket but I have to twist it open for her. Which is not very handy when I'm driving!!

thanks

do u want just stainless steel or do u want a thermos one to keep it cold?

If u just want stainless i think Cheeki bottles are fairly cheap and just have a pop up lid as far as i know

but my little ones have Thermos kids bottles that have a straw in them and u just press the button on the lid to open the bottle and it keeps its contents cool for up to 4hours which is great on a hot day they always have a cold drink with no condensation.

otherwise most health food stores will stock a variety of stainless steel bottles

Oh and the thermos one i got for about $28 from an organic baby shop

Hi, well it's just for water so doesn't have to be thermos but could be useful in summer. I would like it to last for next year with her 3yo kinder coming up.
I looked at the Cheeki ones but they are pretty cheap and nasty and I have heard the paint chips off fairly easily plus I don't like the water flow.
I'll have a look at the Thermos ones though.

Thanks

thats ok. i don't know about u but i love drinking nice cold water so i love the thermos ones sometimes i grab a little sip before they get there backwash into it lol and its so nice and cold. there is another brand that is like cheeki but a little more durable but i can't remember the name. maybe just try googling and see if you can come up with anything.

good luck we have about a million drink bottles here because it took forever to find a good one

I just bought DD a tommee tippee drinkbottle called something like "active sipper" (??) I think!? It doens't leak but doesn't need any twisting to open it, it looks like a normal cup but DD has to suck on the edge to get the water out. It's also a thermos. I got it from coles for around $13.

Thanks, I know the ones you mean I did think of those too but thought s/steel might be better for long term. I find the plastic ones (even BPA free) still end up grimey inside after a while. (even after constant washing) thought I'd better add that in... wink

I'm also a big fan of the Thermos Funtainer/Foogo bottles. My kids have 2 each and have got rid of all other bottles. Have got all my family and friends using them too.

They stay cold all day - great for summer, are really tough and easy to clean.

They can be pricey to outlay for, but well worth it.

Target has Dora and SpongeBob ones for about $22.

Harris Scarfe has different designs for about $27 (always on sale though).

Also available online in tons of designs. If you search ebay overseas, the USA has Cars, Littlest Pet Shop, Spiderman, Barbie, Backyardigans, Scooby Doo etc ones as well.

DD1 has had a Foogo (plain) one for 18mths at school etc and only has a few minor scratches on lid. Also have Dora and Barbie ones and after 6mths of constant use there is only minor scratching to pictures.

Loved them so much I got my own (Thermos Intek). Got mine online from USA but Target stocks them now too.

Thanks I have looked at the funtainer bottles just found an online sale for $16.00 too.
I completely forgot I have a foogoo sippy cup which we never use, and I was actually really disappointed in after I bought it. Partly because it doesn't hold much and it seemed a bit heavy for little hands to hold.
I might take it out again to see if my 11mth old will drink water from it.
I never really understood how the valve worked but I guess it's just to stop from spilling when travelling???

I've been doing some more research and I think I prefer this ecococoon insulated bottle to the Thermos funtainer... here is a link if anyone is interested or does anyone have one??

This is a new bottle with an improved cap and sounds great I just need to find one in a store to avoid postage costs.... hmm will have to look in some health food stores I think.
