8 month old won't eat, help!
My DD Started on solids at 5 months 2 weeks and she took to eating really well. She would eat anything I gave her. She has cracked her first tooth in the past month and I'm sure another is about to break through, The week before the first one surfaced she went off her food as well, she is still Breastfed and is havin plenty of dirty nappies both wee and poo, I am just worried because she was eating her food and now she isn't. I am wondering whether I should be worried? Their iron stores deplete from 6 months so I'm worried she might not be getting all the nutrients she needs. should I go to the doctor about it? I hve a clinic appointment on Wednesday. If I'm lucky she will eat one-2 small spoon Fulls. I have tried her on vegetables, fruit and her cereal, family meals and she is just not interested sad

I wouldn't agree about it. As long as she is getting plenty of breastfeeds and you are offering different foods to her everyday she will be fine. My DS hardly ate until he was 12 months old and then he just started eating everything so she will surprise you soon I'm sure smile

My DD is about the same age & she is shocking with her eating at the moment too... Maybe its a phase or teething like you said.. With my DD I think its also a case of wanting what we have rather than "Baby Food", If she is in the mood she will quite happily eat Yogurt or Bread with Vegemite cut into soldiers or dinners that we eat (Spag Bol etc) but she wont touch "baby foods".. & there are days too at the moment where she wont eat much at all!!
So many parents worry about their kids eating habits, however I think we all need to chill out a bit, not meaning this in an offensive way of course. Infants and young toddlers are exceptionally good and self regulating their nutritional intake and like adults they each have a different appetite and like us, they go through times when they are more/less hungry.
Milk is the staple requirement for first 12 months and if your baby is having plenty of that then really food is just complimentary. Maybe just take a break from solids for a day or two and then try again - bub might be feeling a bit apprehensive about eating if you have been a tad forceful (I can't think of a better word but don't mean this negatively). We do baby led solids which has worked really well for our little one, we trust her to eat enough as she requires it and she's perfectly healthy.
Just keep offering but try to relax. You are giving your baby the ultimate Super Food so no need to worry just yet
