My poor lil ds Rss

My poor lil man has not been well the last few days. He's been grizzly, sooky, clingy, whimpy you name it but there isn't much I can do and I feel so helpless sad I know he is teething, he has a top tooth coming through and I noticed his gum looked a bit white and swollen. I have been rubbing bojela on which seems to help. I did try giving him panadol but he throws up because he doesn't like the taste. Dh managed to get ds to take a dose then he took his bottle. He refuses anymore panadol through the day no matter what!
He also got a few spots around his mouth which I thought was a teething rash (he's had it before bit only a spot or two then it's gone away) but now the spots have become worse, they seem to have multiplied into little ones and has spots on his tongue. I took him to the doc and he said that it's most likely a virus and not much can be done and they should clear up in about 3 to 4 days. I thought it may be hfm but there is no spots anywhere else on his body. He also uses a dummy so even though I try and keep around the mouth dry he is dribbling? A friend says she's seen her nephews with the same thing and it will go away. I'm just worried
Then poor ds as had a high temp only for the last 2 days. Again I tried panadol but he just throws up sad The last 2 nights he hasn't sleep through, he wakes every hour or two crying and wimping, obviously in pain and uncomfortable and last night was worse! I lost count how many times he kept waking up. He refused his bed time bottle but I was able to get him to take a full bottle at 2.30am. This morning he has refused his bottle but is drinking some water from his sippy so is getting some fluids down, phew
I just don't know what to do, I feel so helpless as I don't know what else to do for him except give him lots of cuddles and love.
He was just napping but has just woken up and is crying, omg, please does anyone else know what can I do? Just let it ride out like the doc says? I know he is going to get sick and teeth etc but I hate seeing him like this. sad

Oh no, your poor little man.

Is it worth trying another pain relief like Nurofen? Sorry to hear he is so unwell and I hope he gets better soon.
I would try a different pain relief, even if it's another paracetamol like the chemist brand or something. Panadol does have an extremely strong taste.

We've got the flu really bad in our house at the moment & DD2 sounds the same as your little man. High temp, spots around the mouth, completely miserable. Apparently its common for little kids to develop a rash when they have the virus.

Lots of fluids help heaps & heaps of cuddles and rest time smile Dont stress if he doesnt eat, fluids is more important.

Good luck!
Ohh you poor thing and your poor little ds. It's terrible the feeling we get when our precious kids are sick. Is he still eating his solids? I suppose the main thing is to make sure he does remain well hydrated and is producing enough wet nappies. If his temp doesn't go down and he won't take panadol it may be worth taking him back to the doctor or to the hospital. It would probably be good to check the spots around his mouth and on his tongue too.
If you give him a nice bath and then a nice massage do you think that might make him happier.
Hope he improves soon smile
Yeh he is eating solids, been a bit fussy though nd won't eat it all but gets enough down which is good. I have tried another paracetamol I bought yesterday from Amcal, it has an orange taste not like the yucky cherry panadol one, but ds threw this up too sad thankfully his temp has gone down. He's stopped crying ATM but that's cause he is playing with the tv remotes! He can be happy for a little bit but then he'll start getting upset. Oh well, I am trying to be brave and tell myself he will get better smile I am preggrs so as dh says, stop worrying as it won't help me or ds.
I just hope this ugly spotty rash goes away real soon!! smile thanks everyone hey, it's a relief having all your help & support

We use Pamol, DS likes the taste and drinks it up! smile

Hi:) Hows your little one today? Hope he's improving
