When to take little one's to the dentist Rss

Hi smile

Just wondering when other mums take their little ones for their first dentist check up? My ds is 13 months and has 8 teeth. I was wondering if it's too soon to take him for a first check.

Thanks smile
DS1 didnt go till he was 4 when he had his mandatory school check. I feel pretty slack now
I'm in NZ and we just registered DS when we were at plunket and they sent him an appointment - he would of just turned 1 and had maybe 6 teeth, the dentist just had a feel around and as much of a look as she could, wasn't major. She said that I'd get another appointment in a year.

Thanks nadz27 for your reply smile

My 3 dd's are going for their yearly check up next week so when I'm there I will have a chat about ds having a check.
Unique1 hope this helps you too smile
2littlemonsters Don't feel slack my 3 dd's didn't have their first check till they were 5. Thankfully there were fine. Hows your pregnancy going hun? I'm sure you have so much to organize with triplets on their way.

My dentist told me about 2.5 to 3 years old. They should have their baby teeth by then and be able to sit with their mouth open!! Lol.

Might see is I can get DS2 in for a check as he's almost 3. The pregnancy is going good. Feel like im in my 3rd trimester already lol, but apart from the tiredness feeling good. We have to move into a bigger house but our lease isnt up for another month, so no point looking at the moment. Have to get into centrelink about the PPL for DH, it's so daunting!!

Thats great you are feeling well. That will be great for your family to move into a bigger house before all the bubs are born. Are you getting more organized with baby gear and clothes? And I hope you can sort out the PPL for your dh easily. I'm sure it will be a great help for you to have your dh around in the early days after your triplets arrive. Do you have any idea of when they will arrive?

We're going to wait till we move before we get all that organised. If things go to plan my c-sec date will be booked early June. Thank you, us too, it'll make things heaps easier as DS1 is at pre school and i'll need an extra set of hands that i know and trust, if that makes sense.
im taking DD in a couple of weeks, shes 3. i waited until she had all of her baby teeth and is able to sit still for a few mins and not freak out in the chair (hopefully lol)

but if id had any concerns id have taken her earlier but her teeth seem fine smile
Im in NZ too and DD had her first check before her first birthday, she only had 6 teeth

Yesterday my 3 dd's had their dentist appointment so I asked the dentist when ds should have his first appointment. She said between 18 months and 2 years is what she recommends. Ds was very interested in watching the girls have their check up and was excited when he also got given a toothbrush smile
