One year old early waking Rss

Help please!!! My one year old son has been waking up at 4:30am most days and not going back to sleep. He has slept through the night with no problems since he was six months old but this has happened since he has turned one.

Occasionally he has kicked his blankets off (not sure if he does this before or after he wakes) but doesn't go back to sleep if I quietly put the blankets back over him. He's not teething either. His room is dark too.

The only things I can think of that's changed is that he's becoming more fussy about eating veges and he's becoming more of a 'toddler' i.e. having tantrums, telling us what he doesn't like etc. Not entirely convinced that he's hungry cause he's not upset when he wakes. I don't get him up till 6am cause I don't want him to think it's okay to wake up so early and he's happy enough to wait for me (slightly whines in his cot and talks to himself between 4:30am and 6am but loud enough to keep me awake). He's happy enough when I get him up but rapidly becomes grumpy because I suspect he is still tired.

Since this has happened, he has been occasionally sleeping longer during the day for one of his two day time sleeps. Otherwise he still only sleeps for two 45 minute sleeps a day.

I'm exhausted as I'm sleeping poorly anyway as I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
No advice sorry. Our daughter is an early riser (5 - 5:30am) and in a nutshell we just live with it. Not saying I wouldn't love it if she slept longer but she doesn't so what can I do?

However, if you find the magic formula, pass it my way!!!!!!
Does your DS use a sleeping bag? I don't even have any blankets in DS cot because he wriggles around too much. It's fairly cold at 4:30 so maybe he is waking because he is cold. Have you tried a grobag or similar?

My DS went through a patch for about 3 weeks where he was waking at 5:30 and will now happily sleep through til 8 so I don't know if it is a phase they got through or not.

I hear you with the exhausted thing...I am 13 weeks and even with DS sleeping from 8-8 I am still so tired during the day so I can definitely understand you needing more sleep.
My son wakes up at 4.30am - 5am every day.

We have tried to get him to bed later, play with him later, feeding him a bigger dinner but no change..we have just learnt to get up early..lol
