Moving twins into big beds

Hello Ladies,

Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice/ thoughts on moving my twins into their big beds.
They are 20 months old atm and i was thinking of putting them into their big beds a month before they turn 2.

Normally i wouldnt even really be thinking about moving them until they were climbing out of their cots but we are going away in a caravan for 4 weeks just after their birthday and it would make it so much easier for us if they slept in beds!! being as we wont be able to fit 2 porta cots in one van!!! grin

What age did you move your toddler? Twin mummys... did your twins share a room? was this a problem?

DDi moved into a bed at 23 months. We had it set up in her room and eased her into the idea over a few months. Talking about it lots, tucking toys in etc.

We moved DS into a big bed when he was 2. He adjusted fine and did get up a bit at first but that is to be expected. I'd say go for it I'm sure they'll be fine.

I have twin boys who just turned three in January. They have been in big beds since they were 22 months old. Before that they were in the one cot together.

From birth they were in the one cot together then when they were 19 months old we went overseas for three months and they were in the one portacot together. When we got home they went into big beds seperately in the one room. They coped really well with it we had no problems. Before we went we went out shopping and got the beds and let them play on them and when we came back the same day that we arrived home we pulled the cot down and told them that they now have big beds. That was it was really easy. They are still in the one room together and probably will be till they ask to have seperate rooms. We have a room ready for one of them so space is not an issue but at first Riley would not go to bed unless Brodie was in bed first but that was not issue. Once he saw Brodie in bed he would go straight to sleep. You find out what works.
