What age did your toddler move from a cot to a bed? Rss

Just wondering what age everyone moved their small people into a bed.
My daughter is just about 2 and is still in her cot. Her little coffee group buddies who are a month or so younger are now all in beds.
Im just in no rush! Love the caged in effect. Esp as she still likes to wake in the night sometimes. I have a feeling if she was in a bed we would be seeing a lot more of her tongue

Whats the latest any of you or your friends have kept them in a cot?

Shes always had a single bed in her room but never shows any interest in sleeping there.

Im going to keep this cot sleeping up as long as poss smile
DD1 we moved when she was 20 months no problem. DD2 is still in a cot and is nearly 2.5.. have tried on several occasions to get her in a big bed with no luck.... I'm not in any rush as exactly she won't get out of the cot and wander the house getting into trouble at night smile

We changed DD's cot bed over at 18months, and she only fell out twice but not sure if that counts. We only did it that young as was pregnant and wanted to slowly transition her over to a proper bed about now. But lost babies since then, so like you in no rush

Yes our girl was 18mths old and never fell out. We did speak to her for about two weeks about it before we made the switch and she was aware of what was about to happen. All smiles ever since smile
DS has been in a toddler bed for around a yer amd will be moving into a real bed at the end of the month

How many of you put your children into a toddlers bed rather than a big bed first? My little girl is still in her cot as she is 14 months old but I am planning to by her a toddlers bed for her 2nd birthday.. Her cot does turn into a bed but there is no rail ( the side of the cot just come off) and I think the toddler bed I want to buy is so cute smile

my DS is in a toddler bed because his cot converted into one and if yours doesn't have a rail you could buy a normal bed rail for it

We took the rails off DS cot when he was just over 2 and moved him into a big proper bed at 2.5. We didn't have any problems until the last month and he gets up mutiple times before going to sleep each night. I don't think there is any rush to do it though smile

Our oldest the sides came off the cot on her second birthday and then about 6 months later went into a single bed. Not an issue at all. The twins went into single beds when they were about 22 months old. We did get them the bed rails as they were going straight into single beds with only the bed head against the wall and both in the same room. The loved it also one more than the other as one twin like sleeping on the other as before that they were still in the one cot together. The other finally liked to have his own space.

Good luck. smile

I moved my toddler around 19 months after the arrival of her little sister, and to be honest she sleeps a lot better in a bed than she did in her cot, because she moves around abit and use to wake herself up a lot banging her head or something against the cot sides, and she's was a little monkey trying to climb out so I wouldn't have been able to leave her in it much longer anyway. She sleeps great in her single bed and rarely gets up during the night. I've just put a safety gate at her door so that she can't come out of her room in the night.
