when to stop swaddling/wrapping? Rss

Hi smile
just a quick question on wen everyone stopped swaddling wrapping their littlies? DD is 5months and i still wrap her for bed.. She sleeps through fine but shes just getting too big!
Thanks in advance smile
xx
I stoped when DD was 6 weeks old. I know that's very young but she just never settled being wraped. She always sleeps with her hands above her head. I put her in a sleeping bag instead it kept her warm and secure enough to make her relax. Even now she still sleeps in a sleeping bag with her arms above her head.

Thanks for the help.. Iv been too scared to try it as she sleeps so well with it.. smile i dont want to mess up her routine o.O

Is she riggiling out of the swaddle or is she still very secure in it?, cause if there's no danger of her covering her face with the swaddle just keep swaddleing her if she's fine.

I started wrapping DD at 6 weeks, and it was a lifesaver, she started settling so much better. Have always wrapped her with one arm free, and by the time i get her out she usually has the second arm free too. She sleeps ok without it if she falls alseep in her capsule or bf and i put her in bed, but if i put her in bed wide awake without it she just screams. So have no plans to stop anytime soon, i don't think there is any problem with them being wrapped at this age...

Hiya

We stopped wrapping dd when she started rolling over at about 5 months. She then started sleeping in her grobag and loves it (she's still sleeping in one at 14 months)

She loved being wrapped but one morning she had rolled over but still had her arms in (losely) - and i freaked!!!...so went out that day and bought her a gro bag.
Definitely as soon as they start rolling over. Either wrap one arm and not the other to gradually move on to the grobag or put both arms in a grobag.
Thanks so much everyone.. I know how to go about it now smile where would i be without huggies..! Lol
I stopped around 4mos but the recommendation is discontinue when they start to roll over

Here's how I got my baby to sleep through the night http://violet-sleepbabysleep.blogspot.com/

we stopped at ten months old
she was getting arms out and she showed us she can go to sleep without it
My son is 9 months and still being wraped at night time not during the day though. He sleeps all night 7.30pm till 7pm has always been wraped and always been a good sleeper, so I am in the same pickle dont want to mess up his routine but i know the day will have to come soon. Plunket have told me wrap him as long as he wants it i have never had problems with him rolling in bed. So i dont see the problem with you wrapping your little one for a bit longer. others would disagree! But everyone to their own smile
