hi all.. I just had a baby 2 weeks ago & my 18 month old has been quite good with him (so far!!). We also have grandma staying with us for awhile as we live interstate & dont have family support here. DS1 loves grandma & she has been so great with him, taking him to the park etc etc but... he has started waking at 4.30/5am crying out for grandma, me or dad to come and get him as he wants to play.. there is no way of getting him back to sleep. Grandma ends up getting him out of bed & playing with him until 6.30/7, then our day starts.
I have followed a lot of the material in Save Our Sleep with DS1 & he is a good sleeper, he self settles & is on a good routine. I was thinking of letting him cry it out in the mornings (a little bit more each morning) before going to get him but was wondering if anyone else's toddler was displaying similar behaviour? I'm not sure if this is the way to go as he has had so many changes to deal with in the past couple of weeks. I also had a c-section so was in hospital for 6 days which would have been strange for him as i am a stay at home mum & he is used to me being around all the time. He has been fine during the day .. Soon it will be my husband & I so we would like to try & help DS1 sleep more in the mornings as we will all be so sleep deprived...
Any help & suggestions??!!
