2yr old thinking she may have adhd
My DD3 is nearly 2 and for quite a while I have been concerned that she mite have adhd. I have add and my brother has adhd so it is in the family. She never sits still,as. Learnt to climb up and out of things that she shouldn't. Was climbing out of a portacot by around 14mths. I caught at the top of a bookcase the other day! She doesn't listen when spoken to, and when she is in trouble she want look at you when u are talking her. She plays rough is always biting, hitting, pushing etc. Never sits still even for a cuddle, is always touching things she shouldn't and know she shouldn't. Didn't have any of these issues witth other 2 DDs

I don't know anything about add/ADHD but she sounds the same as my 21month old dd, I thought that kind of behavior was pretty normal as they don't understand consequences and live for the present etc..not sure but just wanted to tell you she sounds the same as most two year olds I know tongue

Hi, I agree that she sounds like my 2 1/2 yr old. My husband and his father have ADD and we have been concerned but we've had him assessed recently for his development and I mentioned it to the assessor but she told me that he's not showing any signs at this stage, he's normal for his age group. If you are concerned you can get her tested, take her to your GP or paediatrician and speak to them about it, state your concerns and they will let you know if a test is necessary or if you need to wait until she is a little older before testing.

At around the same age, our son was showing signs of ADHD. After he was taken to the paediatrician and a child psychologist, they both concluded he was normal for a child his age. He has since settled down: not totally, he's still very active, but not wild like he used to be!
If you're concerned, take DD to a paed or other specialist but in the meantime just try to set some boundaries, it worked wonders with our DS!

Hi there
My son has ADHD and APD we didnt find out till he was 8 years old, I dont think they can test until they are older so what I have been told, But I could be wrong.
When he was younger he was a great toddler he had trouble hearing us and we got his hearing tested a few times, but looking back that was due to his APD auitory processing dissorder, which they cant check until 6 or 7.
He wasnt running around like most kids you except with ADHD and was a good sleeper, we where really shocked when our school wantted us to get him tested when he was 8, but my partner and I knew there was somthing wrong.
I guess what I am trying to say is I think your child is just being normal, and its not really a case of them being into everything means they have ADHD, dont worry. I am sure in time they will settle down, but I feel like they are to young to find out truly if there is anything wrong, be carefull as some doctors are to quick to say yes your child has.........it could just be somthing they have eaten.
Try doing a dairy of what happens before there outbust and what they did wrong, this could help you try to pin point whats going on. maybe even what they have eaten.
kind regards Jo
