Nicest Christening present your child got? Rss

Just wondering what are the nicest Christening presents you have received?

I see lots of lovely money boxes etc online, but I have all of my own Christening presents (money boxes, pewter cups, baby jewellery) stored away in a box! It's not a particularly devout family, so I don't know if Children's bibles etc will be used.

If you have any suggestions for something that can be bought online I'd really appreciate it!
Our dd was given photo frames/albums, jewelrey boxes, money boxes, prayer book...

She was also given 2 gorgeous little bracelets (one gold and one silver) and she wears the silver one nearly every day, and the gold one on special occasions smile
A lovely idea which I've since used is the baby coin sets you get from the Australian mint. So you buy the one for the year the baby was born and it's a keepsake. They have all the coins for that year in a nice slip folder thing with a baby theme, like Blinky Bill and space for date of birth, time etc. They're about the $30-$40 mark. I had to buy one from 2009 for my son, cause we missed his, and it is now $90! so while it's a keepsake, it's also valuable as time goes on.
Other ideas are the Hallmark storybooks that Mum or Dad can record their voice onto, so the child can hear Mum read the story. Something the child can use is always good too, like baby plate sets or a special soft toy.
I liked the bowls/plates/cutlery sets I got.
My boy got an array of gifts - toys, clothes in bigger sizes, gift certificates and cash. I was thinking of doing a registry on thankyou for this occasion but I never got around to setting it up. Nevertheless, the presents were still great! smile
we got stacks of books and teddys dd also got a jewelery box 3 braclets all gorgeous and lots more but my favourite is a hermonica from her godfather it is so personal he has played the hermonica for years even been on a record a few times he gave it to her in a beauitful box with a engraved plauqe saying "to my god-daughter Dd moments to share James" with the date of her christening it is just beauitful something she can have forever smile
