I am going to get my dd christened next month and I am confused anout somethings. does the person have to be licensed to do the christening cause we no some one who would loved to do it and would it b worth contacting she use to do weddings and stuff but she isnt registed anymore also what are some good churches in launceston tasmania are good for it and does anyone know any prices. I know where to get the dress from as there is only 1 place in launceston that has really nice ones for a good price. and we would like to know is there anything else envolved in doing this. any ideas are welcome aswell please smile

The person who does the christening must be a priest/reverend etc of the faith you are christening them in.

You can have a naming ceremony that anyone can co-ordinate but a christening with a certificate etc must be done by an official person of that religion.

If they're being christened Catholic, at least 1 god parent must also be baptised catholic. Some churches require you to attend information sessions about the faith. We just got a DVD to watch at home.
thanx that has helped heaps
