Where to buy dollhouse from? Rss

I really want to buy DD2 a dollhouse for her birthday in September, she will be turning 2. I want a good one, probably wooden, that will last for years. Don't really want to spend more than $150 or $200 though. Any suggestions?
Kmart had a big one awhile ago I think it was around the $99 mark.

While we were looking for one for DD1 there were a few at toyworld & toys'r'us that we liked. They vary in price.
I have a dolls house, and you can buy the kids type on ebay. You can get 2 types of dolls houses, the kids variety or the adults variety. The adult type (the one I have), means that you have to do all of the decorating/ so wallpapering/ lighting etc yourself and it doesn't come included with the house. You don't want one of those as it costs big money for all the bits & pieces & is time consuming to do the elements.
You can also get the kids ones from toys r us. There is a good hobby shop in Wollongong that sells heaps of dollshouses, just google it, it is fairymeadow minatures.
Good luck.
If you're in SA there is a toy factory at the giant rocking horse and they do wooden dollshouses.

Only downside though is i dont think they come painted.

Personally, I love the large tree house. Its very cool with a little bucket to let down the tree and everything. Plus, its much cheaper then a large dolls house! I have seen one and they are very solid and quite big! I am getting one for my 2 - its bigger then their dolls house!

Oc, they are GORGEOUS!! My step dad makes a lot of wooden stuff so I'm going to see if he can do something similar for DD. We are on the other side of Oz otherwise I'd buy from your guy!
DD (2yrs) was given one for Christmas just gone. It is a John Crane toys "Little Cottage". Very cute, not huge but well made and nicely painted. Her and my DS (5yrs) love it and play with it a lot. I believe they retail for about $70 or $80. Think they do bigger ones as well and they do have lots of dolls and extra furniture you can buy to go with it. I have seen them in some toy stores but the large retailers sell them too.
