Toddler parenting books Rss

Has anybody got feedback on the baby whisperers toddler book Or can anybody recommend alternate books for toddlers.
Hi TA81A7 - I havent read the baby whisperer book but I can recommend a couple that I have read. One of the best reads I have had for toddlers is The Happiest Toddler on the Block by Harvey Karp. This book was excellent in helping me to deal with my DD tantrums and communicating with her in a way she understood not to mention appropriate discipline methods. It gives you practical and easy ways to deal with the toddler problems - It really was fabulous and cut the number of tantrums down heaps and the ones that she did have were greatly reduced in length by using his suggestions. Its an easy read and you can skip to relevant chapters without going through the whole book if necessary.

For development I have got What to Expect the Toddler years and it has a chapter designated to each month of your toddlers age from 13-36 months as well as sections on feeding them, health, safety toilet training and injuries etc. It was also interesting to read and I have used it regularly for a reference book.

For speech development I suggest Baby Talk by Sally Ward. It was recommended by a speech therapist to me and its got suggestions for books to read for each age group, toy suggestions for the toy box to aid development at the right age and practical tips for encouraging speech in your toddler. Easy to read too.

Robin Barkers book was also OK but I found that the above books have been used so much more.

Hope that helps! Cheerio, Shelvo
