cook books
Hey all, i'm after a great cookbook with good old fashion but modernised recipes. Thanks girls smile
i dont think u can go past the good old womans weekly cookbook, there is a recipe for everything in there. i picked up a 1980's edition at a garage sale for $1. i was so excited. they have all your classics like lasagna, macaroni cheese, pastery recipes and biscuits. and are uite modern considering it is so old. i know there are newer editions out now which sound be good as well.
When I was at school (long time ago lol) there was a cook book called "the day to day cook book" and it is fantastic, mine has now started to fall apart but I will most certainly be replacing it, quick and easy recipes as well as more complex and something in there for everyone

I love our Day to Day Cookery book. I had one in Home Ec in school. I also agree with Womens Weekly cookbooks- they have some good things in them too. You can usually buy the day to day cookery and women's weekly recipe books at your local newsagent.
I was going to say the womens weekly ones too,
I was given the red one for mothers day and that has heaps of recipes in it all sectioned into the various food groups, ie chicken, beef, veg, salad etc.
But then i got given the blue one which is equally if not slightly better, that one is sectioned into the vaious things you would cook the dishes, Such as meals for casserole dishes, baking tray, frying pan, muffin pan, etc. THey even had a section for microwave cooking other modern utensils such as stab blenders, waffle irons and icecream machines.
If i were you i would get the blue one before the red one, cause then you can think what type of meal you want and then find a recipe
