Has anyone read

Raising Boys: Why Boys Are Different - And How to Help Them Become Happy and Well-Balanced Men ?

I am about to start reading it and was wondering what opinions are...

Hey,
I've read the book and liked it as it was not a way of imposing how to be parents to the boys, its more about how to help them in a way to be present in their life and supporting without imposing. But i noticed that the book was more for "Dads" how to make them understand that they too play an important role in the boy's life. That's my opinion! and i felt the examples that the author gave were simple and you can in a certain way relate to them, or how to deal in those daily situations. And i met a mum with 4 boys, from 10 months - 16 yrs old, and all she said was to be as much as imvolve in yr kids's life as they too need attention as much as the girls, and said to be the best advice is to let them know that no matter what happen bad or good things you will always be there. even if the boys won't talk that much, is to tell them they can count on you

My hubby and I don't have any families here in Australia or " a good male friend" who can have a positive role in our child's life, as they said, sometimes kids prefer to look up and talk easily with a parent's friends rather than the parent for advice or just for a talk. I think that's what will be more of a challenge to find someone who have quite the same moral issues as you do to help and guide yr child.

hope it helps
