Helping toddlers understand their emotions Rss

Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone can recommend books for a 2yr old that help teach emotional control ...I'm looking for little books (or set of books) that cover anger, sadness, happiness etc.

Didn't see anything in the book club .. but might have glossed over it too quickly!
Your thoughts would be welcomed!
Cheers,
Sue

Hi Sue,

My friend just dropped around an Avon catalogue and you wouldn't believe what is in there! 'Feelings Books'. (Four books) This is what it says.
"These books have been carefully designed to help children better understand their feelings. Talking about feelings teaches children that it is normal to sometimes feel sad, angry, scared or happy. With greater understanding of their feelings, children feel happier and more secure. Each book has 'Background Notes for Parents' written by a Melbourne child psychologist to help Mum or Dad explain each 'feeling' to their children. Hardcover books 21cm square with 18 pages. Choose from Angry, Happy, Sad and Scared." Each book is $7.99 and are written by Trace Moroney.

If these sound what you are after they are available in the current Avon catalogue. If you are in Vic I could give you my friends details if you don't know an Avon rep. Also, now that you have the author's name, maybe the major bookstores might have them? Either way, I hope I have helped!

the Mr Men books tend to cover different emotions, and often explain the good and bad side of each emotion. However it is getting almost hard to find the "original" stories.

Hi Sue

I noticed your post and thought I would suggest that you post to our <a href="<a href=" http://huggies.kcaforums.com/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=104 "> Children’s Reading Expert </a> on the forum.

He is sure to have some books that he could recommend and then our <a href="www.huggiesbookclub.com.au /">Huggies Book Club</a> would be able to order them in if they are not currently listed.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Kind regards
Lauraine
The set of books that I mentioned in my earlier post are now available through Kids Central. I saw them at Chadstone.
