I was just wondering if anyone has read this book and what they thought of it? I have seen it now twice on Oprah (recommended in the Oprah book club)

Do you know what it is about?

I have read the book A Million Little Pieces after seeing it on Oprah. I found it to be a very open, honest, real and slightly in your face, book written by James Fry about his drug habbit and being in rehab and his eventual ability to kick his addiction. I have NEVER touched any type of drug or been around that type of people, but found the book eye-opening and found it extremely hard to put down! I have however heard that James Fry changes parts of the story to protect people in it. Even so I don't think i will ever find another book quite so truthful as this.

I've also read the book. I couldn't put it down. I think it took me two days to read it! I love how it's written and how full-on it is. I gave it to my DP to read and he was the same, but my mum couldn't get into it and didn't end up finishing it.

There is a second book called 'My friend Leonard' which carries on from the first which I also recommend. Also a really good read, a little different from the first, but written in the same way and like 'A million little pieces', gets you so involved in the character that you don't want to put it down.

Girls, I think I am thinking about the same book....I think this book was complete fiction. I remember seeing hiom on Oprah years ago, and I am sure I saw a follow up with Oprah saying it was all a farse, and thst she felt cheated by this guy as she had invested alot ($$ I think as well as emotionally). I am not 100% sure, but as soon as I saw the title I remembered the show.

You are right Michelle, Oprah was mighty peeved. Actually intrigued me more though, once I'd heard all of the controversy!

I love reading, and ummed and ahhed about this one for ages, I finally bought it and was really disappointed!!!

It was ok, maybe I had high expectations. Confronting.. a little, but I was disappointed.
