suggestions of where to holiday??? Rss

Hi Guys,
At the end of the year my hubby and daughter who will then be 1yr old are looking at going on a holiday....where to go we are not sure? Before we had bub, we would just go to melbourne or Brisbane. I love Melbourne but hubby thinks there will be nothing to do with dd. What places can you reccommend for a holiday with a one year old. Something that we will all enjoy. Also when dd is one would she be intersted in going to a zoo or something or will she still be to young for that? I'm not sure as she is my first baby lol. We may even consider nz if it is cheap/convient enough. Are there websites I could look at? I have no idea where to start, Dh said we can go where ever so I really want to make something that we haven't done before. Thanks for your help.

The zoo is a great idea - my eldest boy went ot the zoo just before turning one and was mesmerised by it. At 4 it is still one of his favourite places to go. Visiting an aquarium is also a great idea - my DS2 who is almost 2 loves stopping to watch fish in fish tanks and has enjoyed that for about a year now.

Anywhere with water is also bound to be a hit with a small one and sand is great fun smile

Good luck and enjoy

Hi Mylilgirl, We went to Melbourne with our then 10mth, Did the zoo and aqaurium. DS enjoyed it but fell asleep halfway round each (even after we timed it around sleeps, feed, etc). We also spent alot of time with books from the library of the animals we were going to see, so he was quite excited when he saw them. As excited as a 10m gets smile
Since we have been home we show him photos and have kept up with the books so he really loves all animals now. The animals he did see we took photos and brought a couple of small soft toys, this to us makes the holiday last a lot longer and not so much a waste of $ since he won't remember it.
You could look at another city with animal attractions and lots of parks etc. We also didn't eat in resturants, just had lots of picnics in the park so DS could have a crawl around.
