Lasagna question Rss

I lovvveeee lasagna, and I make a pretty good one too smile

But a question when you're putting your lasagna together do you put a pasta sheet at the very bottom or do you put a layer of mince down first then a pasta sheet?

I usually put mince down first and it's messy to cut and serve, that's why I ask smile

I put just a little layer of mince first just so the sheets don't stick to the bottom and so there's a little liquid for the sheet's to soften!

oh yum now I want that for tea with garlic bread too!!!

I put pasta sheets don first but I always see people putting the mince first. My lasagne doesn't fall apart smile

I don't eat red meat so no mince in mine (lol) but i always put a small amount of passata on the bottom of my vegie lasagna just to help soften the pasta sheet; it's what i've always done and never thought not to!

Thanks lucky*mummy, i'm now adding lasagna to meal plan this week! smile

People who live in glass houses.....shouldn't walk around naked!

I put alittle bit of mince on the bottom to keep the sheets in place. Hubby likes it this way

We always put lasagna sheets down first smile It never sticks so no problem there!! grin
Well thank u for those answers! Very helpful!

I line my pan with baking paper (easier to clean up after) so the sticking factor isn't too much of a problem smile

Maybe my next lasagna I will try the pasta sheet first and see if I like that better smile

I usually use spray oil in the bottom of the glass dish then pasta then meat. Lasagne needs a bottom smile

Yup, mince on the bottom for me too! I put a thin layer on the bottom.
