Confirmation/Communion Dress question Rss

Izi is having her confirmation and first communion this month. I've had a hell of a time finding her a dress because she is about 3 years late doing it and the dresses seem to be in smaller sizes. Anyhow, I tracked one down on EBay but the seller contacted me today and said there was a mistake and it isn't white, it is an off white creamy colour. Does anyone know if this is OK or does it have to be pure white?
I think it maye depend on the parish. I had to wear white but when my sister was Confirmed she was able to wear any pale pastel colour and red was the colour of Confirmation so she wore a red ribbon in her hair.

Yep Catholic. They are two days apart so they said to wear the same dress. I was going to have a red ribbon in her hair for confirmation and a veil for the communion. I think off white would be OK for confirmation but I don't know about communion. I will ask the nun organising it but she is away until next week and I want to order the dress so I get it on time.
I hope it all works out. I can remember wearing my Sunday best for one then my white dress for the other.
Good luck, it's a very exciting time for her. smile
When DD made her first communion she wore white.... however I ended up hiring her dress from a wedding hire dress shop - so I guess you could say it was more like a flower girl dress but half the price of buying it....

Good luck - what a special time for you guys.

Thanks Ladies. I might try hiring one if this one isn't suitable.
I got the dress today and it is beautiful. It looks white to me, just not brilliant white but I think this colour suits Isobella's colouring better anyway. It was only $53 inc postage so a real bargain. It fits beautifully, she looks like a dream and I contacted the church and it is fine to wear. Phew! One less thing to worry about.
How lovely.
Be nice to see the pics of her all dressed up when the time comes
Hi Girls, I walked passed 44 Macquarie Street Parramatta, and found this shop called QQBaby selling a large range of kid's formal dresses, flower girls and communion dresses. I bought a 6 month traditional christening dress for my niece from this shop, it is exactly what my sister wants - great quality with just only $90. Their website is http://www.qqbaby.com.au

Hope you find the dress for your kids.
