has anyone realise how stupid they are Rss

i have taken notice to all these stupid kids shows... they dont speak properly... they have annoying songs... and most of them are not educational

why have they replaced all the good kid shows with crappy ones, so dissappointed in what my kids will be growing up with

the wot wots are stupid... they dont talk except for the word what

wibbly pig has the most annoying song they repeat the whole eipsode

the hoots sing a song saying what over and over again... they can be alrigth when not singing but they have weird names like tibble peeps for humans...WTH

waybuloo i love only because i get relaxed lol... but their language is very kiddish

i would love for shows to speak properly to advoid my children from misuse of word of mispronoucing them!

but what can i do about it... im getting close to banning tv in the house when DS is awake as im afraid its going to influence him too much

sorry i needed to vent about it!!
They are rubbish aren't they?!

What happened to sesame street and playschool. Even they aren't what they ust to be. We have a couple of Pooh bear and Wiggles DVDS but pooh bear isn't really educational and there is only so many times we can watch the wiggles lol.
austar/foxtel are great for kids channels.

apart from yo gabba gabbe (which my daughter loves *groan* ) i havent really found any that i dont like.

diego, dora, mickey mouse club house, dinosaur train, etc she loves them all and has learnt a lot from them. she can say at least half a dozen words in spanish thanks to dora and diego and knows all kinds of bizarre animals thanks to Diego and lots of different types of dinosaurs thanks to Dinosaur Train and Dino Dan etc.

but yes, i agree for the most part there are some terrible kids shows on tv. luckily DD is satisfied with watching the ones that i put on for her.

But on the mention of "good shows" like sesame street...elmo has to be one of the worst when it comes to awful speech and pronunciation!!
yeh yo gabba gabba is pretty bad... and that orange jump suit what were they thinking... but they teach to share and be nice ive noticed also to try different things...eg food and new friends

i cant help but love elmo... DS loves the songs he sings... very cute... but i was a sucker for elmo growing up too haha

and yes seasme street has changed playschool is ok but DS doesnt like it

that in the night garden is on atm... stupid words ERRRR
in the night garden has always annoyed the heck out of me. can't they just call a bird a bird rather than a titifer?

I have to agree!

We heavily sensor TV here. The kids watch playschool, dirtgirlworld (we all love gardening here), caillou and yo gabba gabba (I think has some great messages in it). Otherwise we don't watch much else, maybe Bob the Builder.

As of Thursday we won't have a TV for awhile anyway because it is going away for repair. I doubt we will miss it.
I love yo gabba gabba so dose ds, its one of the only shows that he will watch.
I hate in the night garden...
yup i agree, thats why i put the boomerang channel (foxtel) on for ds (its half for me also cuz its the only kids programmes i can tolerate tongue and brings back memories from when i was a kid also smile

I can't stand 'In the Night Garden' either! There is alot of kids shows I can't stand come to think of it! What happened to good old Sesame Street? Now they have to ban idiots like Katy Perry from going on and showing too much cleavage?! I like Yo Gabba Gabba, even if it has really annoying songs, as it promotes good messages to young children. Also, like PP, my DS1 learnt so many spanish words from Dora the Explorer, though he actually ended up with an American accent, which he still has now and he's 8 1/2! blink

Agreed, I love Austar for childrens shows. During winter DD gets a lot of tv time and the amount she has learnt from watching these shows is amazing !!!
it is true that yo gabba gabba has some good hidden messages. but i just cant seem to appreciate them when its coming from guest stars like Jack Black LOL
so many people mentioning sesame st as a "god show" lol this is where my ds has picked up a lot of his speach problems an american accent n some words, and he says "herwo" instead of hero from baby bear on sesame st.

i like most of the kids shows, i cant stand dora tho. ds has watched it once when he got up really early and watched it. he really liked it so i guess if he asked to watch it i would let him but thank goodness he hasnt actually asked yet lol

two of his faves at the moment are captain mack and lazy town. sad boo hope he gets over them soon lol he also loves louie the one that teaches u how to draw and spongebob (yay i love spongebob lol)

and dd likes chuggington, zigby, playschool.

they both like in the night garden books and playing with the toys, but wont sit and watch it when its on tv/dvds
