Pimples on your tongue Rss

Random question of the night....

You know how you get pimples on your tongue that are really, really tender, sensitive and sore? Well, I've had one for about three days now and it won't go away. I get them every now and then but they usually go away within half a day, but this one won't p&## off!! I've never really thought about it until now but now I'm wondering what the hell these pimples actually are and if there are any ways to get rid of them. Anyone know the answers??

I know, I know, I could Google but I'd rather chat to you people. Google is so impersonal. laugh

My mother always told me they were from telling lies. Wow you must have told a whopper. blink laugh
Oh I get those too! So annoying! I got them so often I thought it was a defincincy (sp?) in iodine or something - not sure what really. I asked the doc and he said its a tastebud that had either reacted to food, been annoyed (in my case a chipped tooth with a sharp edge - hence why I get them all the time in the same place), or something too hot or cold in your mouth.

He told me to leave it alone and it will go away, and something about going to a dentist... (I HATE dentists!)

So then I was told by someone else to use warm salt water as a mouth wash - YUCK YUCK YUCK!
So now I put some salt out of the shaker into the palm of my hand and stick the pimple into it. It usually goes within 12hrs. And if I feel one coming on, I have salt with my dinner even though I hate the stuff!
i get them sometimes too i usually notice them after i have barbeque sauce lol and sometimes other things too but cant think of what lol

they usually just go away so i dont know what to do to get rid of them lol

They are little ulcers, usually caused by some form of trauma. Unfortunately nothing you can really do about them, as someone else mentioned you can try a teaspoon of salt dissolved in warm water and rinse a couple of times a day. The mouth heals very quickly, they should be gone by 7-10days unless they are caused from a chipped tooth or sharp edge they will continuously get aggravated until the initial cause is corrected.

If they are quite painful you can use a numbing cream on them or even just some ice especially before you eat.
Sounds like ulsers. I get them from salty foods like chips and yes bbq sause will do it wink

Bahahahahahaha!!! Yep, I told a huge one the other night - said I didn't eat all the chocolate LOL!! laugh

Thanks everyone. Someone told me that chewing on fresh mint helps and it did. Who would have thought!?!
I had heaps of little ulcers just before our Wedding and my bridesmaid who is a dental nurse said to put vegemite on them, it really stung but worked grin .
It also works for 'pimples' on the tounge.
