I went and had a massage today because I have a crook neck and while I was in the shopping centre I saw poster after poster, special after special about Valentines Day!

I have NEVER been one to celebrate Valentines Day as my Nan who I was extremely close to passed away Feb 14th and its just a downer of a day... last year DP bought me a MASSIVE bunch of flowers to cheer me, he reassured me it was NOT for Valentines Day...

I was thinking of doing a little something this year for DP but cant come up with anything that doesnt involve a great deal of money.

Anyone else doing anything for their DP?

I usually just cook DH a fabulous meal for valentines day - 3 courses real flash and yum, always goes down well smile

Prob not its such a "hallmark" holiday I might score flowers maybe but we will prob get take out that night and that's about it lol.
We use to do stuff but now I sort of see it as I don't really need a special day to show Dp I love him I'm sure he gets the hint I love him laugh

Putting baby in bed early, Buying a dozen of beer, cooking DF a roast, have a bubble bath, then we will sit up and play the PS3, with some hot sex after that lol.

Pretty much all his fav things all in one evening and will mean HEAPS to him.

no we haven't ever done anything for dont see the point for us anyway its just a normal day

We randomly buy cards if we see one that means something to us. But we usually just go out for dinner a night or two before or after the 14th.

This year we are away with family at a function so nothing special!

I'm doing a three course meal (bruschetta & garlic prawns, beef stroganoff (his fave) & rice, and chocolate trifles in wine glasses with candles etc.. Can't wait! Bubba is getting babysat so I'm doing the deck up with candles and chocolates scattered on the table.

I know we could treat it as any other day but if we don't celebrate it around valentines day and put the extra effort in, we will say we can show each other love any day but life gets in the way and we forget lol

Hope your neck is feeling better - maybe you can give DH a massage for valentines, that's nice and free lol

Stef2009 & Tallulahbella- I am thinking I might steal both your ideas and make a 3 course meal too, we considered going out to dinner but Id much rather stay home and make something I KNOW he wil enjoy and save heaps of $$$. I actually bought some massage oil today while I was grocery shopping wink he ALWAYS pesters me for a back rub sooo he might just get one!

lol we were considering trying to actually stay awake together for the entire day and maybe getting some sleep that night too...
But we will prob give each other cards, we tend to make our own ( yes he does too) and maybe a small gift if we happen to find something meaningful.
We live in a household of between 8-10 people so romance is definitely out!
I hope you girls all have a wonderful day though and, at least some of you get spoiled.

thats what i thought! we dont do valentines day here.... who wants to wait a year to do show each other you love them! but i certainly dont go for serve men day. it should be about something special for both of you!

My DH buys me flowers and I bake him something covered in chocolate.
Last year we went for a sunset picnic together. This year we're going to movies to watch "The Vow" smile (It's the one day in the whole year that I get to pick the movie!!!)

we dont do anything special .Dh is not even home atm he is on a school camp until wednesday

we never do anything, well I think we might of on our first Valentines day together, but its my mums b'day so that's more of a big deal.

What shall I do in Valentines Day?
I am single now.

My partner is going in for a PET scan and a CT scan and they have said that he cant go near children and pregnant women for 6 hours after due to radiation. So seeing as im 38 weeks pregnant and also have 2 young DD's im spending the night at my parents. Should be great lol

Well DP has just said that we should go out for dinner with DS to our Fave burger joint and then go into Kmart and split up and find something for each other under $10. Sounds awesome to me I can't wait smile DP is not romantic so this is as romantic as he gets

No plans, we're broke and sleep deprived so really dont care that much this year but we usually give each other a card and a small gift. we got engaged last week so we had romance then i guess. And we got a little naughty last night so now he's packin it cos we didnt use protection and its not even 3 weeks since Lyssie was born OOPS. oh well if it happens it happens and what could be bad about 2 babies in one year lol....no romance ever again.
