I generally don't get thanked and I do most of it!! I do thanks DP on the rare occasion that he does it (like yesterday!!) as I want him to keep doing it!! What about you Thea?

basically the same i dont think i ever get thanked and i think i thank him when he actully does something because then he might do it again

DH thanks me a few times a week when he's home and says he appreciates everything that I do to keep the house running grin

I ALWAYS thank him when he does any of the housework to give him a boost to keep on helping laugh

Yes i do, cause he knows how much i hate doing it. And i thank him for working & doing the yard work or washing my car.

No I never get thanked unless I have done something he has ask and I make a point of saying that I have done it and even then sometimes I have to say do I get a thank you.

I Pretty much always thank him for stuff that he does because he doesnt do much. But he does work 60-70 hours per week so I cant expect much.

Im expected to stroke his .......... Ego when he does something good. If i do something good, ie housework, its expected, no thanks.
But, i basically get anything i want (within reason) so itd be greedy to ask for thanks too.
Sometimes in a marriage you gotta let a little slide and have a blow up once a year about it wink

NO I don't get thanked... DF can be a bit of a slob too I think he thinks his mess just gets cleaned up by a magical fairy! But then he works and I'm the one at home and its not like I thank him every night for going to work smile

I don't thank him either for housework as such, but when he does do something I do say 'ooooo I lurrrrrrvvveee watching you clean baby' or 'nothing more satisfying than watching a man clean!' and it becomes a bit of a joke but that way he knows I am noticing and he knows I appreciate it!

No I don't, but I don't thank him for going to work and doing the hours he does either. I used to thank him for doing household chores but I realized that by doing that it gave me ownership of those jobs and really everyone who lives in this house is responsible for them so I stopped thanking him for doing stuff that he was just as responsible for as anyone else who lives here.

I get thanked for cleaning the bathroom, I thank him for folding the washing. I try not to thank him as I feel its just something that should be done.
BUT if he hasn't done cleaning in awhile, I just say "i'm feeling like I'm doing everything again, I'd appreciate some help around the house" that usually gets him cleaning a bit. he does cook a few times a week and does the dishes so its not too bad.

Yes we both thank each other every couple of days. We also thank whomever cooked tea. Its not a big issue and just a part of our lives and doesn't take much effort.

For dinners I do... otherwise DH comments on how the place looks good from time to time also.

I dont get thanked per se but he comes home he will say that the house looks great or that I must have been busy today! And he always thanks me for cooking tea.

And IfI do something specifically that he normally does like put out the bins or tidy his tools he always thanks me.

I suppose I do thank him when he does the dishes or puts washing on but I don't think he really notices.

nah i dont get thanked. although its funny any time dp does anything he makes sure he mentions it, i think he is after the recognition. i say thankyou in the hope that it will lead to him doing more in the future.

LOL! I had to laugh cos yesterday I tried this! It would have been quicker to clean it myself, so I am not sure what he cleans when he tells me he has cleaned it!

Oh and I thanked him too! smile

I get thanked for dinner, and he does the dishes every night which I don't thank him for. The rule is I cook, he cleans up after.

Housework - he doesn't normally thank me but if he comes home and its all done he'll comment on how I've been busy and give me nice cuddles.

The best thank you I got last weekend was when I was exhausted as it was my last week of work - it was Saturday and I was starting work at 130 again, so in the morning I was getting around doing the usual stuff with my eyes hanging out of my head and my hand supporting my aching back, and he said " you just relax hun, I will do the cleaning up." grin
Best thing I've heard him say for our entire marriage! Lol - and i did come home to a sparkling house too .

Oh and hubby always cleans the toilet after doing number 2s, so it gets cleaned daily. He's always just done that.

Lately dh has been cooking dinner I've been helping but he's been doing most. Well anyway He was like you never say Thanks for dinner gasp I thought I had been blink . But then it got me thinking he Never Thanks me for everything I do around the house etc angry

I tried to get a back/foot rub from him last night as thanks for cleaning yesterday... No such luck and on top of that he ate all of my oreos that he bought especially for me... sad
