cat scratched lip Rss

Hi all just want some advice if this has happened to ur toddler at all.

My daughter has a part of her lip that goes red occasionally but a few days ago when I checked on her sleeping it looked like the cat scratched her lip and when she woke up I couldnt see anything so I gathered maybe it was nothing... she is also occasionally biting her lip.... its not like its constantly red but it is time to time its normal at the moment, just occasionally during the day and im wondering if it could be mildly infected or if there is anything I should do incase there is a chance of it getting properly infected if the cat did scratch her? Also she has been having more accidents lately and has bumped her lip here and there and ran into a door recently too so I just dont know :S.

She also was just bouncing on the bed next to me as DH is painting the house and I kept telling her off and she just fell off our bed! GOSH she used to be so careful now recently thats all gone out the window and she is becoming more adventurous and taking risks which is very annoying!.....accidents arghh!!!

Hi Shull, I'm not really sure about your DD's lip I'm sorry I have no useful advice. But I just wanted to say Hi I hadn't seen you around for a while. How is your pregnancy going?

Heya,

Yeah pregnancy ticking along now.... not too long left hey! had a little leak and show during this week so nurses told me to take it easy which I have and nothing else has been going on which is good.... too early a few more weeks would be good... Apart from that I have had anxiety during this pregnancy since 25weeks and its been hard and not as easy this time but im hoping for things to go back to normal once bubz is here.

Just a thought, does she lick her lip a lot? I used to lick my top lip often when i was a kid, it would be dry and sore so i would lick it more and then it'd get worse. It was just a weird habit i had for a while and i just used Nyal cold sore cream on it which would heal it straight away really. (its called cold sore cream but iv'e never used it for that purpose)
Anyway its just a thought, hope its all ok.
Only just getting more adventurous now? Wait until you have a boy my dear! DS used to jump off the coffee table onto his little couch at about 15mths old (not mummy approved). He cracked his eyebrow open (not jumping off coffee table) before he turned 1 I think. He's always been a crazy risk taker and usually has some sort of bruise on him. Sorry probably not helping you, but trust me the amount of times DS has been hurt and he is ok, they are tough little cookies.

I'm so sorry to hear you are anxious and not doing so great this pregnancy. It can be so hard on our bodies and minds. Thinking of you xx
Thanx for the replies girls... I asked the dr @ my apt but he said she was fine... but it only happens time to time so im like hmmmmmm.

Jodie_76a - she seems to be sucking and chewing her lip time to time these days since I have been biting my lips alot! and I tell her no and she sees me doing it so obviously keeps doing it ...but its fine atm its just time to time it gets red and then nothing so i was just wondering even if the cat scratch was there but faint and the saliva or food is getting into it too and if that would be bad and when ever she is asleep and still i go and check on her and its perfectly fine its only a couple of times when shes awake and obviously sucking or biting her lip!

Goldcoastmum - yeh she has been only a little adventurous but now she is taking way more risks and makes me cringe so much all the time!! I know mums only with boys and wen their kiddies are around they constantly have scared me ....I gasp all the time at the stuff they do and the mums r relaxed becos they r always into mischief .....so will definately b a big change in pace i think!!
