hey lovely ladies

im putting out a request for photos that i can use for an art work im working on. i need photos of bubs breast feeding, at any ages.

i want to create a huge collection of bf portraits, i will be drawing them all by hand in a variety of drawing mediums inc, charcoal, graphite, and sepia style pastel. the work is currently untitled but will prob be called something along the lines of 'nurture' or similar. i will be entering it into a local exhibition if i get it done in time (its a few months away) and then id like to donate it to my local maternity ward, who do wonderful work and were fantastic caring for me with the births of my first and 3rd child.

i could of corse just grab some off 'google' but legally i need the permission of the parents to use any material invoving children.

ive been asked to provide a bit more info for contributors in regards to this project.

-this is a PERSONAL project, all material and contributor information will not be given to any third party nor kept by myself, when i finish the piece all information will be deleted or destroyed

-the exhibition will be in batemansbay NSW (details have not been disclosed to me as yet) around easter..with having 3 kids if i dont complete the work by this time it will exhibited in an exhibition later in the year. both are run by the batemans bay art and craft society (registered organisation)

-i may recieve a monetary prize should it win any awards in the show however im NOT planning on selling the work i wish to donate it to the moruya hospital maternity ward, this has not been pre-arranged as the hospital will only consider completed works. if they dont accept the donation i will keep the work in my personal collection until such a time as i can donate it, no unknown party will ever own this piece (ie i will not sell it).

-i hope there was no confusion. i will NOT be sending contributors a drawing, i will however take a photo of the drawing i do and email that to you. you will not recieve an original piece

-only the bub will be drawn, if your face appears in the image i will crop it.

- i will accept photos up until the end of this month, feb 2012

can people whove sent me a photo please confirm that theyre still happy for me to use it

I went to find a photo and discovered that although I have BF for may years when my DD's were babies we had a camera with film not a digital and I haven't put any on a disc and the only photo of my DS is when he is just born having his first feed and he is alien like and is wrapped in towels...... it just not a flattering photo of either of us and would put any expectant mother off having a baby.

So I don't have any but wish that I did sad

If you go the the Brisbane times.com website and type in 'mothers milk bank' under the heading "mothers milk" is an online article I did when i had DS1 in 2010, its all about the mothers milk bank in Banora Point where I live, and therre are some tasteful BF pics of my and my son there, just have a flick through and you're welcome to use any of them!!!!

haha now normally I wouldn't go emailing pictures of my boobs to strangers wink but I sent you a photo too.

the first feed photos are the best doesnt matter about towels and goop etc as i can use a medium that flatters the photo and captures the emotion of such a moment rather then the details. so feel free to send it anyway it you want to

lol i dont most of the time!

but really once the kids are in bed at night its not too hard to find the time atm since i dont study again until july and everything on TV is crappy, id rather be drawing or painting.

Such a beautiful idea! (both the concept and that you'll be donating it).
It's also made me realise i only have 2 pics bfing my little princess and in one she's flipping the bird! lol. I'll forward the other one hey! wink
