SO MAD Rss

ARRRRRHHHHH just feeling really angry right now. I have had to clean up 3 turds today. I'm pretty sure thats its all one cat - I've seen him a couple of times dumping on our lawn.

Its right in the area my kids play - near the sandpit.

I pick it up but there is always a smear left. I pour detol + water on spot. I don't know what else to do! And do today DD1 was hanging around my feet trying to see what I was doing she stepped in the smear then went to touch her feet.

Its gross, smells bad and carries nasty bugs that can make us sick!

I feel some neighbours at war comng on. I want to go over there and tell them to teach their cat to poo in kitty litter. But I don't know them.
Keep a water gun handy and squirt it when you see it in your property and that will hopefully keep it away.
Someone told me orange peel or oil is supposed to keep cats away from sandpits. Not sure how true it is........
citrus cats hate and also vinegar my grandad uses it around the house where his neighbours cat goes and he don't have a problem anymore also a cat hate those things with shiny eyes that you can place in the garden in shape of owls and cats

maybe you could cover your sandpit when its not in use
My mum used to throw it back over their fence tongue (the poop that is)
There are a few different products you can buy from the hardware store that keep them out. I used to hose our neighbours cat out of our yard.
Hi! I agree with all the other posts. We have had lots of trouble with cats pooing in our garden - especially under my bedroom window so I can't open it because of the smell and I'm pregnant so too paranoid to go out and clean it up!
Anyway, citrus is supposed to work and I have had success with cracked pepper - lots of it (except if it rains). The best thing I have found to deter them is moth balls (the ones in the yellow hangers so the kids and animals can't eat them). I place them in the garden fully exposed. They last for months.
Also, they may be attracted to the dettol you're using. They are attracted to lots of cleaning products, especially if they have ammonia in them.
Bottles of water and shiny items are also supposed to scare them. I wish you luck. They make such a mess and a stink!

Oh and my Grandpa swears by his slug gun wink
I know citus stuff works because our old neighbour who had they had 3 dogs & for some reason all 3 dogs did number 2 on our side. So hubby sprayed citus on the fence line. They never did anything again.

You can get stuff from Bunnings - might be called 'Cat Off' or something equally as original.
My inlawss have used it and it has worked well for them.. Sprinkle/spray it all around the sandpit as well as around your property's perimeter... you might even go so far as to put it on the fence if the cat jumps up and over it...

Good luck! Can only imagine how annoying it must be..

Oh and animals generally don't like to dirty up their own territory so they tend to try to poo outside of their backyard <img src='http://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

DF just told me that a cricket bat is a permanent deterrent! (don't worry he was joking)
thanks guys for all the options.
