What hobbies do you do for You? Rss

Good morning ladies smile

So I'm looking for ideas of what I can do to relax and have some ME time. I don't have much spare money so I'm looking for something preferably inexpensive. I'm going to start making time for me as I deserve it smile

So my question is what do you do for relaxation?

Thanks smile
I do bellydancing and pay just $5 a class. It is fun and is good for me too. I also enjoy Zumba and baking.

I find that physical relaxing is great because I can work out any frustrations and tension that may have built up. It gives me a release of endorphins that makes me feel great and it also keeps me fit and healthy and believe it or not gives me more energy.

I also enjoy reading if I feel like being a couch potato.

My blog, take a peek into my world

I do mosaic which i find very relaxing. I maded hubby a chestboard for xmas and i done a photo frame.

Plus i getting into making candles & soaps. I got all the supplies it just doing it i haven't found time yet.

When I have time to do something for myself I like to do scrap booking or card marking, most items are cheap from the warehouse. Some free things I like to do is have a soak in the bath or go for a walk with our dog through the park for time out, it relaxing but also good exercise.
I love to do furniture restoration... however its usually a big task that takes weeks so havn't done it for ages because of pregnancy. It doesn't have to be expensive... my last project was my great grandmothers dining table - its really quirky so I sanded it back, re-glued the parts that were falling apart and finished it with a wax so that it still had an old look.

I also like to sew! Not in a traditional sense by any means. I like an eclectic style so I've made some really funky things for around my house. Last week I made a couch cushion with Audrey hepburn on it... I found a black and white tapestry fabric with her on it which was really cool! Oh and last week I also sewed up some bright materials to make sheets for the cot... I hate how all cot sheets are dull and in pastel colours. These are BRIGHT! I've also made a throw rug out of some really retro fabric, and a while back made myself a dress for my brothers wedding. I'm not into sewing unless it has an immediate function for me, my family or my house, and I really dislike traditional sewing that produces boring things..... it has to produce a piece of standout art for me!

I have a real Passion for interior design. So I do spend a lot of time dreaming up my next project. I really love my little house.... its funky & quirky and its all stuff I've done.

I like to make paintings to but have given up on it... as much as I enjoy it I'm not very good at it. Lol

Hi

I do scrapbooking/card making. I have built up a stash of supplies over a long time though, but you can buy coordinating kits for cheap, great for cards, I buy cheap card from the newsagent.

I don't get to do much atm with a newborn and a 2yo but I try to find at least a little time a make a card or two ( and cards don't take much time to make either)

I have done many crafty things in the past but dont enjoy them any more and they are expensive esp on one income:
folk art, paper tolle(sp), scrapbooking, cross stitch
I love to read which is cheap from the library,I go to curves, thats about it apart chit chat with other mums at kids sport lol

mum of 3 boys aged 10, 11 and 13

at the moment nothing because my hyperemesis makes me to sick to do anything but when im not pregnant my hobby is the gym.

i love cycle classes and doing a hardcore workout to some good music, im putting time and effort into my body and i always walk out feeling great.
for less than $20 a week and i can go there as often as i want for as long as i want its a cheap hobby too.
I like doing physical stuff too - I walk a lot, go to spin class (which is pretty expensive where I live, $15 a class), and I'm trying to do some jogging too. I love gardening and that is quite a work out as well.

Other hobbies I have are playing the guitar, reading and writing. I write a blog and write creatively as well. I don't find all that much time to do these things nowadays but I find when I make time, I feel much better!

Thanks for your replys ladies smile

It looks like anyform of exercise is proving to be good for the body and mind so I think maybe I'll start going for a walk child free each night.
I like reading but don't seem to have enough time after taking care of my kids and dh.
I'm enjoying getting all the cake decorating stuff together for my eldest dd's birthday cake so think I may continue with decorating and making yummy cakes for my family.
