Am I going to stop losing weight??? Rss

Hey ladies, I was 63.5kg pre-pregnancy and now nearly 5months after my son's birth I'm 54kg. He's breastfed and on solids. I'm eating healthy, 3 good meals a day plus snacks in between but I just keep losing weight. I lost 4 kg in the last 2 weeks. I was wondering if anyone had been in this situation and did your weight stay put after a while? I don't think it will be very healthy if I get any skinnier than I am now. Thank you smile

I lost a fair bit of wieght in my thrid pregnancy due to generally feeling abit nausea through out, but stablised after he was born.

If you are still loosing such alot of weight at this stage it wouldn't hurt to go and see your doctor incase you have a thyroid problem or some other hormone inbalance.

All the best smile
Think you should go to the doctor to get your thyroid checked. I had postnatal hyperthyroidism which made me lose a lot of weight. If it isn't an underlying problem the doctor may be able to come up with ideas for keeping the weight on.
I was the same.

I was low 60's pre-pregnancy, and am currently 54 or 55kg. It seems to have stabalized now that dd is only having 3 or 4 feeds a day, and eating more solids (she's 10 months)...

My chn told me to swap all low fat things for full fat (like milk and yoghurt etc)...

It can get embarassing when people start to quiz you on how much you eat, making you feel like your starving yourself or something!?...i eat well thank you wink

Hope this helps!
I also lost a fair bit of weight while BF. I got down to about 49kg at one point but I think that was more to do with stress. I didnt put on alot while pregnant either. Both pregnancies I weighed more before I conceived than I did a week after birth.

And yet I constantly ate! I ate healthy AND fatty food. It just didnt seem to go anywhere on me lol.

I havent been BF for about 6 months now, and my weight is maintained. I think I'm around 53kg.

You're not alone. Some people are just like that I guess. As long as you're feeling well & eating a healthy & varied diet with plenty of protein & vegies, & healthy snacks, you should be fine.

With that being said, if you are feeling rundown and are worried, it wouldnt hurt to get your bloods checked.
I was 64kg pre pregnancy and only put on 4kg. After ds was born I lost that plus an extra 10kg so was down to 54kg. I was eating healthy but the weight just kept dropping off. I was b/f so put it down to that and possible stress and lack of sleep

Slowly but surely my weight crept up, only out on 4kg until I fell pregnant in oct, Ds was 11 months old

As pp have said, I think you should go to the doc to get checked out smile I'd be a bit worried if I lost 4kg in the last 2 weeks. That said it might but nothing hun but better to be sure all's ok smile

Thanks for all your input smile I will keep an eye on my weight gain and if it keeps going like this I'll go see my doctor.

Getting so sick of everyone telling me to eat more!! It's the same people and everytime I see them..grr

I got asked if I was anorexic multiple times after DS was born. I was about 68Kg pre preg put on 18 kgs so got to 86KG when DS was born then when he was 3-4 months old I was 57/58Kg. I ate alot of crap and breastfed for 10 months. As soon as I stopped breastfeeding the weight piled back on again! Maybe go to your GP is you keep losing weight and go dangerously low but I do think it's normal whilst b'fing to lose a fair amount of weight.

I think breastfeeding has alot to do with it. This may sound a bit silly but i noticed it dramatically. I could not breastfeed as DD would not attached so i expressed for about a month (that was enough for me as i couldnt keep up) anyways, in that time i was about 5kg under my prepregnancy weight and then when i stopped it came back on....now unfortunaly im 5kg above my pre pregnancy weight and seriously am doign eveything (healthy) to get it off and i wont budge.

Its annoying huh! They look at you like you cant look after yourself or something & they ask if you're coping ok. Im sure they mean well, but it is really frustrating when people feel the need to comment on a womans physique & weight after she's had a baby.

Yup very annoying. They go on about how small I look and how huge my son looks. I'd never comment on someones body after having had a baby!! Except to say they look good smile

I actually made an appointment to see my doctor regarding same thing before i read this post. My mum and friends are all onto me to see the doctor, so i dont know if he is just going to say dont be silly your all fine, which i guess is a good outcome. I am the lightest i have ever been since being an adult - 54kg and i am rather tall 176cm. I am still breastfeeding but i dont want to give it up yet so hopefully there is a better solution than that.
