Fifty Shades of grey Rss

Has anyone read this book and what did they think
I'm wanting to now but haven't bought them yet. Ive heard them call it " mummy porn" lol. Sounds interesting with all the S&M and sex stuff. Would love to hear from someone who has read it. All my friends have just started it. smile

I'm planning on reading them when I go on maternity leave at the end of August.
I'm very intrested to see what the hype is all about!

It's ok. I have read the first two, to be honestly the plot is few and far between and the sex is every second line really. I think ladies have become attracted to the fantasy of a sexy gazillionair that would do naughty thing to them. I'm a romance book reader so it's nothing new to me. But I do enjoy more of a plot to my books. Thor Bronze Horseman is amazing, as is The Tea Rose

My toddler rides rear facing!

I have heard its pretty crap....

what I HATE though....is the term "mummy porn." I hate it. I find it degrading. I don't know whether people feel they shouldn't read erotic novels and because this one has made it into the mainstream its ok for them to admit to it. The term mummy porn somehow makes it ok.....I have no idea. I just cringe everytime I hear it.

Essentially though, its an extension of the Twilight series. I found them to be pretty boring both the movies and the books. I was pretty disappointed as I like gripping movies and books especially but these I had to make myself read.
I have brought the books to read but find it amazing the hype around "mummy porn"......... How many women are happy to read these books but would strongly object to hubby reading or watching male porn???

I think it is totally different reading s fictional book about sex than actually watching porn with real women. Completely different IMO.

I think they were poorly written, she has some sort of obsession with contraception and by the second book was was bored stiff (aha) but im pretty OCD about finishing books so i read it through. The end of the third book was actually good. An actual plot happened. Finally.

BUT Im all for people actually reading, so im not about to dismiss peoples attraction to the books. Anyway, the author is the one laughing all the way to the bank, isnt she?

I am thinking about buying them, just to see what the big deal is but I am a bit worried that I am going to be like T.R.E.E. and think that it is a waste of $30 and time that i cant get back!

Actually I was in the bookstore last week and a guy in his early 20s came in with his mother and I heard him say to his mum " Let see if they have got it here" .He sees the triolgy, go rushing over and snaps them up and takes them to the cash register and buys them. i thought it was very bizarre watching a guy with his mother buying " mummy porn". Not sure if it was for him or both of them but he was very excited over it.LOL
So there you go, men are buy it too !

i have read it. i get what the hype is about. the hype is about all the sex and the OMG i cant believe the author went THERE. sex is on nearly every second page. it's book porn.

it is not the best when it comes to novels but if you appreciate it for what it is, book porn, then it is a good, simple read. definately a no brainer though.

i am now reading the bronze horseman. took me a while to get into it, but starting to get the hype about this one.

Don't waste your money, go to the library and borrow it!
I bought the first one on Kindle... and I deeply regret it. So poorly written, I wish I had just gone with my gut after reading the reviews, I was forcing myself to read it. Not my cup of tea at all!

I read them all on Kindle, and I enjoyed them all. Sure, they weren't particularly well-written, but I enjoyed the story and the romance of it all. I didn't see many comparisons between it and the Twilight series whatsoever. It is what it is, erotica, though it's softer than other erotica I have read, and far less crude, which I also liked. The author does write a lot about contraception, however if she hadn't, probably someone would be complaining that it is encouraging unsafe sex, so I can certainly understand why she has done so. Anyway, I would recommend it, I found it a fabulous, easy to read series! But don't read it if you are looking for a literary masterpiece...
