I’m actually outraged at how many people think it’s acceptable to palm their kids off to a stranger from 7:30am till 6pm/ 5days a week and during school holidays and when the kids are sick! Kids are not play things. They need their parents to nurture them. If people don’t have time for their kids they shouldn’t have them in the first place – or should only have one instead of 3.

I'm outraged that people can be so narrow minded!
I would probably not make the decision that this familyy have either BUT you have made a judgement that this family are terrible parents who don't give a crap about their children based on an add! You have no idea what the situation or circumstances are!
Again I would not chooae to have a nanny and work long hours but I don't have a crystal ball to know what the future holds.
Perhaps this family is in a situation where there is no other option. How irresponsible of them to make sure their children are adequately cared for!
People need to walk a mile in others shoes before making judgement!

Yeah I guess I can be narrow minded when it comes to responsible parenting. My DS is sick at the moment. He woke up at 5:30 (which is unusual for him), can't decide if he wants to play or sleep, doesn't want to eat so I'm constantly trying to give him drinks and snacks. I took 2 days off from work this week and my DH came home from work early on Wed. He's my child - he's my responsibility. I don't see looking after him as a chore. He's not a toy. He has needs and I'm his mother so I'm more than happy to attend to them. Life's not all about fun and games.

The ad doesn't sound like it's a single mother looking for a nanny. It's most likely a 2 parent household - with both parents having well paid jobs and by "western suburbs" they probably mean Flinders Park or West Beach not Taperoo. That's what my view is based on.
