mums and tattoo's.. Rss

hello all grin

now its no secret i have a few tattoo's (almost a full sleeve to be exact) and i love my body art!.. but for some reason im always getting filthy looks, snares and stupid comments about them when im out with DD.. my baby health nurse even said "its sad that your baby has to grow up in a house where self-mutilation is acceptable"..

what world do we live in now?!?

my tatt's dont make me any less of a good mum n they dont make me a bad person.. so i dont understand why im so judged?!

does anyone else go through this? and what is everyones opinions on mum's with tattoo's

thanks everyone smile

xx
opinon- I dont like them on women or men and dont think that they look good and must wonder how that cute tattoo would look in 20, 30 or 40 years time....However, I know many people with them and I would not comment as dont want to offend and as they say each to their own and it does not interfere in parenting in any way that I can see.

I don't see a problem with it tbh smile but in saying that I adore tattoo's, I have loved them for as long as I can remember lol

I have one on my wrist and plan on getting one on my back with DD"s name when I can afford it.

I have never really known why people judge tattoo's. MY father is also covered in them and people have always " feared " him because of it or judged him in some way.

I have had some people give me horrible looks just because of one small tattoo! lol but then you have people who compliment it as well smile JUst like everything you're going to have people who judge you because of your choices.

You either like them or you don't smile
how about the needle/s that must hurt! Ouch !Tattooed people must have a better pain thresh hold than me

I'm wondering why your getting comments? are they gaudy looking skulls or something lol I have tattoos all of which are easily hidden I do want to look respectable now I'm a mummy.I think it all depends on what you have tattoed I seen a man walking down the street the other day who hada nazi tattoos on his head and face it was vulgar and tbh he looked like he done runner from the circus tongue.
I'm getting a tattoo after bub is born and I don't care what anyone says... it is for me and represents something important to me smile
Aww I feel for you, how rude for these people to voice there opinions in front of your child!
I also love body art - although have minimal myself, this is mainly due to me taking my time to make sure i'm adding the right piece to my body so I will not regret it when I'm a grandma. I only have some sentimental art on my thigh at present, but once baby is here I will definitely be adding my little one!! smile
It is so sad that people still judge in this day an age, what prudes! Seriously it's 2012 almost 2013... I have alway's been brought up to believe if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all.
People are so cruel, especially women - Honestly why on earth would you worry about what others are thinking about you? You just focus on your family. xx smile

I dont have any tattoos. I'm a wimp and don't want to deal with the pain laugh But also, I donate blood regularly and would have to stop doing that for 12 months if I was to get a tattoo... So I don't get a tattoo. I felt bad enough when I was pregnant & after having DD because they were always asking for blood donations and I couldn't.

Not a big fan of tattoos myself, but have no problems with the on other people. Yes I have made judgements on other people with tattoos because they do make some people look a bit scary, but then again it's usually more then just the tattoos it's their whole overall appearance and demeanor.

One of the best tattoos I've ever seen belonged to a midwife at the hospital after DS2 was born. The tattoo was a small one on the wrist of a stork carrying a baby. It was just so perfect and actually gave me more confidence in her because it made it obvious that she absolutely loved what she was doing smile

all the tattoo's i have are very colourful and feminine.. they all mean something important to me. im not covered in scary crap lol.

im a very girlie girl even tho i have ink all over my arm hahaa..

i just hate it when people make me out to be a bad person because i choose to decorate my body as i please smile

the way i see it.. u only get ur body once, u might as well enjoy it while u can
