Anyone from Crows nest area.

Hi ,Im mum to a 7mth old and to a 2.5yr old. Anyone from CRows Nest area. I dont know any mums around here , Im fairly new to the area. Are there playgroups in Crows Nest?
I'd love to here from some cool mums

There is a fantastic playgroup at the TAFE in Crows Nest, on West Street. I have just started going there with my 23 month old. It is run by the Early Childhood TAFE students and it is huge. You just turn up - no need to book. It is $8 a session, so a bit more expensive than others, but there is so much to do, both inside and out. It has just finished for the holidays, but starts again in a few weeks time - end of July I think. Usually it goes from 10am-12noon Monday-Saturday and 2-4pm on Tuesdays (as well as the 10am session). I really recommend it. A lot of mums hang out on the little 'green' outside Gloria Jeans in the afternoons. I have just recently moved here from London and I don't know any other mums, but I find that if I hang around there I almost always find someone to chat to for half an hour. I must admit, the only downer about the TAFE playgroup is that it is so big you don't necessarily meet anyone - or perhaps that is just me! Oh, if you pop into the Early Childhood Centre on Ernest Street in Crows Nest you will be able to get a booklet that lists services and playgroups. Or just go onto the North Sydney Council website - it is really helpful as well.

I had heard that the Tafe was good from another person too. Do you go on any particular days, if so maybe we could all meet up. I am free any day apart from Tuesday and Thursdays, how about anyone else that is interested. Thanks, Marlo

So far I have been on a Monday then a Wednesday, then it finished for the holidays! So I haven't actually got into any routine with it yet. It starts back on Monday 23rd July - should we try and meet up then? If you are a first timer you need to go down to the ground floor to prepay for the session. It's really easy to find - entrance is on West Street, just go through the main front door. You will actually walk past the playsession, but keep going until you get to the lifts, then go down on level and to the administration office to prepay. You can then pay for one session or buy a card for several sessions. Then back up the lift, sign in, and that's it! How about we touch base closer to the time to check who can make it, and how we will make ourselves known to each other once we are there!

I'm 31, living nearby at Cremorne and don't know too many people in the area. My bub is only 8 weeks so too early for playgroup for us but I would love to catch up for some adult conversation over coffee or a walk.
