PR Rss

Hi, we are PR, and moving to Melbourne this coming September.

We have 1 four years old boy. We are planning to send him to daycare & prep as soon as possible we reach Melbourne.

Then we are planning that my husband will search for full time job,and i will take the Childcare Service Cert III for 6months. When I completed this certificate, i will work in Childcare service (partime) so that i have more time to spend with my son.

We need informations from the residents in Melbourne, is it practical (financially) to send the kids to daycare, and both parents working & we claim for the Daycare benefits?

Please advise..

1 - it can be hard to get a job in childcare just out of the course
2 - I would say to go do ur diploma or doing the cert 3 and get a trainee-ship soon in Vic they wont hire anyone without a diploma Ive got my cert 3 and I also didnt agree with alot of childcare places Ive worked at the dont follow all the rules and when u first get out of the course and it makes you angry.... well it made me angry try get into a private centre if you can not a ABC
Hi Katherine,

Thanks for your reply.

But i understand from the Selmar Institute, 90% of the students will get the job easily? afterall, during the course, we have to go through the training then only we will get the cert, right?
