Hi all, hubby and I and my almost-1-year old are moving up to Bendigo from Melbourne in late February, and I will know noone!

Can anyone hook me up with a playgroup/mother's group that meet regularly, so I can make some friends? smile

I have a son that is almost 8 months and I have been in bendigo since i was 8 months pregnant. I haven't had the chance to get out and make friends and I'm finding it really hard to find a playgroup.

I'm trying to get some mums and even dads together to have lunch or afternoon tea a any of the parks in bendigo so the babies can play and parents can relax and chat. If your interested and could get any other parents to join, that would be realy good.

Thanks for the replies, ladies! We've been here 2.5 weeks now. Would love to meet up at Rosalind Park or near the lake, let the babies have a play together, and have some grown-up conversation for myself!

I'll inbox you to organise something, it'd be great to make some friends. I found a Spring Gully playgroup that meets near me (found it through that playgroup Victoria website), I haven't been yet but apparently it's for kids aged 0-5 so pretty broad range. Would love to have my daughter have a play with others around her age.

The kids ages currently range from 4 months to 4 years. New faces welcome! sessions are $1 per child aged 1 and over. Babies under 1 are free.

We're living in the town centre at the moment as we're still house hunting- long story!!!

We've just returned to Bendigo after a couple of years away, but I was here for 11 years prior to that smile Love Bendigo smile There are lots of different playgroups around, just depends on where you want to join in. Also, if you are on Facebook, join the Bendigo Social Little Butterflies group, they do some great stuff! I'd be happy to meet up too smile The Lake is great - there is coffee there for the mums and plenty of space to play for the kids smile

Siobhan, we are going to go to the Spring Gully playgroup probably not next week but the week after (got my mum visiting next week smile ).

I am sure you've already tried this, but when we were back in Melb searching for a rental property up here, we found it hard as every place we saw on realestate.com seemed to already be taken by the time we rang up about it (straight away!). We ended up chatting to a lovely girl from Luke Goggin and she took us to see some places that weren't on realestate.com or their website yet, and we got our place that way. And we're in Spring Gully, which we love so far. It's really quiet and peaceful, but still not even 10 minutes to the CBD.

Looking forward to meeting you ladies at some point soon!

Have you tired Reecy Owens realestate? we moved from Melbourne and went through them, they're really nice. Never had a issue with them

I'll get back to you with the number for playgroup. We meet at the maternal child health centre on spring gully road. It's pretty much the same building as the kinder there...I should just check with our coordinator that she doesn't mind me putting her number up on a public forum lol

We won't be there today after all! We spent the day in Melbourne yesterday and didn't get back til late, so things are all over the place today and bubs has just gone down for her morning nap. But we will definitely be there next week!
