North side parks with coffee shops!!!

Hi! We are moving from Perth to the north side of Brisbane (Wavell Heights possibly) and I am wondering if anyone knows of good child friendly parks with coffee shops nearby?

I have a three year old boy and a four week old girl and found parks like this a great place to meet new friends for my son and a great place to fix both my coffee cravings and those of my husbands on weekends and love the fact that we could spend a whole morning on the weekend playing in the park thanks to coffee!!!

There is a good website for Perth called acoffeeinthepark that outlines such places and I am wondering if anyone here also has suggestions?? I know both my husband and I would be very happy!! It would also be a great opportunity for me to meet other mums in Brisbane!

Also, do many of the parks in Brisbane have shade cloth over their play equipment?

I am actually in wavell heights, there are few mums on here from this area, it's lovely!

There's a great coffee shop on Goss road "bowerbird". It has play equipment inside but you can also take away coffee to the big playground just a few houses down the street.

Most parks in bris have shade cloth over some of the equipment. Not always the swings though.

There are HEAPS of great parks in the area but not many are right near to coffee shops, you can always grab a takeaway and drive down the street though. Kidspace is awesome (at Chermside) and the indoor play centres are quite good too. Monkey Business is at northlakes and tiddlywinks is at Nundah. (Google will show you more info).

I just realized that I got the suburb wrong - I think we are looking at Bridgeman Downs but that is really close to Wavell Heights so I will be sure to investigate!!
