Im very new to this online forum thing! I have been searching to find forums or networks for mining families...We live on the Gold Coast and my Husband has just picked up a job working in a mine up north so he is FIFO 15 on 6 off. We have a beautiful little boy who is almost 3. As we are pretty new to the coast i don't have a network of friends or family here which makes it alittle teadious at times... Wondering if there are any other mums dealing with the same thing?

Hi Ali l put a post on awhile back but didnt recieve any local replies. My partner is now on a 8 and 6 roster after doing years of 15 and 6 so alot better. He's in wa though so yes l understand we're you're coming from as we dont have family here and a most of my friends work. Where on the coast are you? i'm also a bit knew to this online forum. i have a nearly 4 yr old girl and nearly 2 year old boy.

I know you posted this a ocuple of moths ago but I thought I would see if you are still around. I am in Hope Island and have a husband who is FIFO as well. He does 10/4 at the moment but that could be changing in the New Year. We have 2 kids aged 2 and 4 1/2. Would love to meet up if you have time one day. I know I couple of other mining Mums as well.

Im really sorry i have not responded, Life has just been crazy!!!Hubby has gone from doing 15/6 to now doing 25/4, finding it pretty stressful with a 3yr old and no real support network. You poor thing Ali that is a horrid roster l'm quiet lucky now but still not what l want for family life.
I'd forgotton l'd even posted on here as don't get on that often. I'm usually free Mondays and most weekends if you ever want to meet up somewhere. My kids don't have a day sleep so l'm pretty flexible.

We live in brisbane but moving to the sunshine coast soon, and my partner works in wa. I have a 9 week old baby boy and a 4 year old daughter and am defitnely finding it a lot harder with my partenr working away, and would be great to have other mums to chat to in similar situation.
