attn Sunshine coast experts! Rss

We are making plans to move to the Sunshine coast in a years time, coming for a 2 week holiday this year to see where we might want to buy and settle down and just get a feel for the place.
Question- Does anyone have any insight as to why the houses are so damn cheap, with many of them being "reduced" so obviously having troubles selling them. Is there something we should know??
Also, any opinions on Buderim, Little Mountain, Aroona or Golden beach?

Thanks in advance x
I lived up there a couple of years ago. We are still trying to sell ours! The market is really flat, as is the whole economy up there. I left because I was laid off and couldn't find another job.

Buderim is nice, but parts are quite steep and the public transport is terrible. Little Mountain isn't so great for public transport either, there isn't a lot in terms of local shops there either. You need to drive to Caloundra for that.

We used to call Golden Beach 'god's waiting room', because it is so full of old people! But it's nice and close to the beach and shops at Caloundra. A lot of Golden Beach is old shacks and older style houses. I don't know Aroona a lot so I won't comment.

Good Luck! We were up there visiting at xmas and I don't think things have really picked up work wise yet.
